So, yesterday morning I was feeling rather nauseas, just put it down to 38 weeks, getting nervous.

Hubby and I went out in the ute which was bumpy as and i told him his mates sister was being induced todat and joked about how cool
A 13/1/13 baby would be, but that we wouldn't get one as I'd had no signs as yet

At about 330ish I finished a bowl of icecream on lounge and felt a tiny gush, so small it was borderline wether it was discharge or waters or plug went to toilet and wiped and was a bit pink. I I thought ok mucus plug, but ill call hospital anyway. When u ring they get all your details and then someone will ring u back, the lady on phone was saying its probably nothing and just then I was like oh my god its running down my legs bright red, on feet and carpet! She put me through to her boss who said come in. We didn't even take bags- hubby drive like a maniac(even though we're just 7 mins away) as we parked and walked into hospital I felt my pad filling and said yup, waters def gone! As I went to birthing centre midwifes took their time, said we won't put u in birthing suite yet, well stick u elsewhere just to be examined, then I said "I'm leaking on your carpet" and she realized FIND ME A ROOM!

they asked for a urine sample and as i peed in the cup it was huge clots the size if mandarins, just a cup of blood and bathroom floor covered too. They laid me down and prepped me for surgery as i got so dizzy and bp raised. They strapped a ctg on me and bub had a 6 minute deceleration of hb at 90. Doctor felt my tummy and said placenta abruption, u need a c section and possibly transfusion now as they weighed the giant pad I'd been on and it had 500gram blood loss on it. Said if i had this happen at home i probably would have bled out. They gave hubby scrubs, I gave my mums number to the mw to call her and I was in operating room. Wasn't worried bouts self as I was about to be knocked out, worried bout hubs stressing :(
My placenta was so calcified they said it looked like a smokers! I've never touched one in my life!

At 422pm on 13/1/13 he was born, hubby cut cord and apparently bawled. Jace was 6 pound 12 and 49cm long

I woke at 630 I think. Couldn't keep my eyes open. Didn't see jace for an hour as I couldn't hold him but Dave was with him. They wouldn't let mum or my friends waiting see him til I did.

It's now 439am 14/1/13 here- jace is asleep next to me. Sore but ok.

I'm sad I missed my hubby's reaction to birth though :( will be here 3-5 days cos of section so can't upload pics from mobile :(

Ahh Hun congrats on baby!! Can't wait to see the pics! Sounds scary though although you sound as if you took it calmly! I'm not sure i could do the same xx

I figured I didn't have much choice! I was glad to be knocked out and not have to deal with the stress though. My poor hubby. 12 hours later jace has finally started latching to bf.

Oh and while they were prepping me for surgery the dopey doc took 3 attempts at my cannula. Then frigging tipped up a whole vial of my blood and had to do it again!

Awww I will keep my eyes out for photos :) I am sorry it ended up happening the way it did but so glad you are all doing well :) Congratulations!! x

My god, that was scary! I'm going to count myself lucky, and stop whining about a possible section.I am so glad you and baby are alright. Your family must have been terrified. Heal quick, and we are all looking forward to photos.

Massive congrats! Sounds so scary! Glad everything went well!

I know, especially after hubby and I decided we weren't telling anyone when we went to hospital. As soon as they said c section I said "call my mum!"

They said even if they could've stabilized my bleeding, he would have not survived vaginal deluvery, was in too much distress and heart rate was dipping too much
