Do hospitals provide towels for a shower after the birth or when you get out birthing pool?

If you have to stay in a few days do they provide towels to use then?

I keep wondering if I am packing too much, the right things etc. Would be so useful if the hospital had a sheet telling you what they do and don't provide and some indication of what to take.

I was under the impression we had to take our own towels for showers post birth but not sure if they might have them for the birthing pool

I think you have to take your own towel to the hospital. On the list my hospital gave it says you do.

I know my hospital provides towels for you after the birth etc. They're not the thickest or softest but I would prefer to use theirs as post-birth discharge is not something I would want on my own towels.

putting a towel in my bag will take up so much space esp. as been told not to take a wheely case or a big bag as there is just nowhere to put it by the bed.

I've had 4 hospital births (2 different hospitals) and have never taken my own towels.

Ours dont provide one, i didnt get dried after i got out of pool to
have my waters broken, they just took my wet nightie off and wrapped me
in a sheet, by the time they came back to check me, i was dry, although
it didnt even cross my mind at the time about being wet/getting dry as i was
so out of it with the pain and gas and air.

We were told in our normal antenatal class that we don't need to bring towels as the hospital provide them. However at the waterbirth specific class the midwife showed us the largest of these said towels and they are not big enough to wrap around a pregnant lady so she recommends bringing your own for a water birth - but one you don't mind getting ruined or taken away by the staff (they've been known to chuck them in the laundry then you never see them again).

Really it's best to check with your own hospital though as they all have different policies.
