I just had my second C-section, and the post-surgical pain was AWFUL. I was crying, and moaning the night after the surgery. I'm just now (three days later) able to move around more. It's really hard though, but I'm fine going to visit lo in the nicu.

But it still hurts. I just wanted to ask if any other women here had TERRIBLE pain for the first two days. The medication they gave me felt like it hardly helped. It was really bad.

Anyone else? Thanks.

Yes! My pain was so bad i could hardly stand up straight it was aweful for the first month, i am super scared of this next section.

My pain was very bad, but I persevered with getting up and walking which helped so much. I also had Oxycodone that was a very high dose due to my narcotic tolerance. Now I cant not even tell I have have a section, and I barely have a scar. I hope your pain feels better soon.

i was in agony for atleast 3 days then in bad pain for about a week or so :/

I remember it was bad, they had morphine in me I believe and I was asking for something for pain relief after I had that and found it was rubbish. I couldn't walk for a while either, cough, breath right etc

I took morphine for three days after the section, to be honest my pain wasn't bad unless I was trying to bend down, get up after being sat or lay down or trying to get up and down off the toilet! Walking was very slow though.

I tried to keep moving as I had it I'm my head that this would help and I wouldn't go stiff... Don't know if it helped but I had a positive recovery from the section.

Remember you've not long had it though and the recovery time is at least six weeks. Try and take it easy. I'd probably ask a health professional though if its hurting when you're just sitting still or anything like that. It was the moving around that I, and that I read, can be painful so that's normal

Xx

I had absolutely horrid pain with my first. Second c-sect was a walk in the park comparingly. Third was awful again. Fourth wasn't easy either, but better than 1st or 3rd. I'm also unlucky that it takes me weeks and weeks to get better (apart from my 2nd c-sect which took only days). This 4th one had lots of complications, and I needed painmedication for 3 weeks! Was awful. Hope you're better soon, and hope your baby is out of NICU soon! :hugs:

I wasn't in much pain with my first c-section. It was more so severe discomfort. Walking was a bit hard and so was sitting.
What did you have for anesthesia? I had a spinal and besides the fact I was in recovery for 2 hours due to my temperature fluctuations, didn't have pain medication besides tylenol. I'm opting for an epidural this time so hopefully won't be in recovery for the same amount of time.
:hugs: hope you feel better soon. :)

Honestly i was in severe pain for the first week, i'd only get an hour or two of feeling ok from strong painkillers and on day 3 or 4 it was so bad that i couldnt even go down to see him but i promise it does get better!

I had a spinal as well. xx

Thanks SO much to everyone. I really appreciate the time you took to respond. The support helps a lot. I'm doing a bit better today. **TMI** I went to the bathroom this morning for the first time since last week. It was painful, but not as bad as last time.

I'm still in pain, but it is getting better, and it's SO much better than those first two days. I've noticed that I'm very sleepy though. Thank you again. xxoo

Mine wasn't painful the nurses kept on giving me meds that prevented me from feeling the pain..
What's wrong wif yóur LO? I hope Lo get well soon:flower:

I didn't mind it at all. I never took anything at all for pain and the day after my section I was up and taking a shower. The day I came home from the hospital I did laundry and vacuumed the house. I was driving my kids to soccer practise 4 days after my section. Now that I am pregnant again I am trying to decide if I want to try for a vaginal birth, or just go with another section. I had an emergency c section this time after labouring for 32 hours and pushing for 4 hours.
