A lot of the names we like are very similar to names already used by other members of the family... But how close is too close? Please could you give your opinion on the following names (whether you think they are too close or not)? Our names list is on the left, family names that have been used are on the right!

:flower:

Alice - Alicia
Maisie - Daisy
Eloise - Ellie-Louise and Lily-Ella
Georgiana/Georgia - Georgie
Maci - Lacie
Isabelle - Bella
Harley - Charlie

It all depends on how often you see your family but here are my personal thoughts -

Alice - Alicia - very close
Maisie - Daisy - different name - fine
Eloise - Ellie-Louise and Lily-Ella - different name - fine
Georgiana/Georgia - Georgie - too close
Maci - Lacie - diff name - fine
Isabelle - Bella - diff name unless you're planning to shortern to belle or Bella

Harley - Charlie - diff name

Alice - Alicia totally different names
Maisie - Daisy totally different
Eloise - Ellie-Louise and Lily-Ella
Very similar to Ellie-Louise, especially if you want nn Ellie
Georgiana/Georgia - Georgie Same name, nope
Maci - Lacie totally different
Isabelle - Bella same name, nope
Harley - Charlie totally different

I think it's only too close when it's essentially the same name/nickname derived from same name...Rhyming names are similar but not the same, if that makes sense

I have a relative planning to name her daughter Adelynn/Addie even though her sister's daughter's name is Abigail/Abby and no one (besides me) seemed to find that at all odd. So I think all your name choices are perfectly fine. Unless you plan to shorten to Ellie/Georgie/Bella - if so, those ones are out in my opinion.
