I just want to know off you of you ladies whos give birth about how your LO started entering the world at the strange out the blue time.

Was you out having a meal? On the bus? Shopping? And your waters broke or the sudden contraction pain came over you?

I just want to know it's not a fear as such just wondering how you dealt with it?

I keep thinking peanut will start labour off when I'm least expecting it and it's in the middle of paying for the shopping etc :)!

God I wish that had happened. I ended up being induced because my little diva was far too comfortable. I kept walking around supermarkets etc in the hope that being somewhere public and inconvenient would make her appear but unfortunately not! Would have been nice to get some sort of hamper I hear some stores give you lol!

I was 41 weeks and felt absolutely fine, when I got up that morning I had already decided that it wasn't going to be the day :haha: It was 9:30am when I felt a popping sensation (my waters but there wasn't a gush because of a thick meconium) and about 30 seconds later I felt my first contraction. My labour was really intense from the start and 6.5 hours later my son was born xx

I was on bnb, stood up to go to the toilet and my waters gushed out. Phoned OH who was at tesco (at midnight!), got changed, came back on bnb and said 'my waters have broke :D' haha

No exciting story for me i was just on the sofa watching tv when it started 30 seconds every 3 minutes but i had no clue that day wud be the day so i could easilly of been out and about and id of been in trouble!

about 2 weeks before I went into labor, DH decided he was going to 'protect' everything with extra padding from my waters, except the couch, and when I was 40 weeks and 3 days, wouldn't know it, my waters broke while I was on the couch phoning the nurse in the delivery unit to ask if I could come in because my contractions were getting worse.

I was at home in bed when i decided to get up to go for a wee, walked across the bedroom, got through the door and on to the landing and my waters broke. I had expected to go overdue as it was my first but in fact it happened at 38+1 so felt like quite a surprise at the time!

I have no interesting story :( I started the early phase of labour the day before my due date. Had continuous pains for 3 days, went into hospital on the 3rd morning and was there until 11pm at night. Came home because I was only 1-2cm dilated. Ended up back in hospital by 1am (fourth day). I was 3cm by this point, 7cm by around 4am and gave birth at 07:42am. My waters broke when I started pushing and I didn't have much because I had low fluid levels throughout pregnancy (due to my waters rupturing at 14 weeks).

Very standard but long straight forward labour!

My son picked a pretty odd time to want to enter the world. It was the middle of April and we got a sudden blizzard. :dohh: I had been playing games on the computer and when I got up to go to bed, my water broke. Getting to the hospital that night was horrible since visibility was practically nothing and my hospital is over 30 mins away.

I woke up in the night to go to the loo and felt a bit weird. I got back into bed and was having mild stomach cramps which I thought were an upset tummy. I went back to the loo and my knickers were soaked and there a was a streak of pink-the show. I still wasn't convinced it was labour and didnt wake my husband up for nearly an hour while I convinced myself I was in labour!!!

I had just started watching a film when I started getting contractions. I had no idea it was contractions tho so I carried on watching my film, even tho I was still in pain :dohh: no idea I was in labour as my waters still hadn't broke and the contractions were in my back lol
After my film I thought ok this is really starting to hurt so better go get checked out and as soon as I arrived at the hostpital I was 5-6 cms :D they got me into a room and it was time to push lol I was in labour for about 5hours. Very fast! My water wet just before her head came out :flow:

With Tiarnan I was laying on the couch watching a movie when I heard a pop. Five minutes later I headed up stairs to use the restroom, there was liquid hitting the toilet water but I wasn't peeing. :haha: The pop was my waters and they stayed put til I got on the toilet. Lucky me, no clean up.

With Cormac I had just finished swim lessons with Tiarnan and we were in the shower washing off. I felt sudden gushes of water and goo. Again, lucky me no clean up as we were in the shower. I did tell the swim instructor that they would want to mop down the floors before opening to the public for the day. I hope they did.

On March 31 I worked my normal day joking with all my patients how funny it would be if I had my baby on April Fool's Day (April 1st). Little did I know the little leaks I was having was actually amniotic fluid! Didn't find out until that night, was induced and did indeed have Ari on April Fool's Day! Even my bosses didn't believe me, thought it was an elaborate joke until they came and saw me in the hospital!

Nothing exciting for me I'm afraid. Woke at 5am needing the loo, had some tummy ache, that went away then 5 mins later they came back and I thought "oh, maybe this is it?". :happydance: Continued slowly and calmly, got closer together and baby was here 12 hours later. Waters didn't break at all, midwife had to break them for me (after allowing me to push for half an hour with them in the way, thanks guys!!)

Posted this before in another thread but:

I woke up during the night to go for a wee and his head came out while I was sitting there on the toilet! I jumped off and called my husband just in time to deliver his son! It took about 2 minutes altogether (no labour pains or feeling beforehand)- shocking for us!

This is really helpful - thanks all :)

Oh my god! :telephone: Did you telephone for help right away?

No exciting story for Jaymee was laying in bed with a upset tummy that kept getting worst lol .
With Katherine I had just gotten up with Jaymee and was talking to oh and his sister while watching sponge bob and I got contractions out of the blue every 10 minutes

I had ah omebirth planned anyway so I called the midwife but they took about 45 minutes to come! After that we called my mum (yup, at 3am in the morning!) to give her the shocking but exciting news! :)

My waters broke at 2am in bed with no warning signs. I'm kinda glad I wasn't out shopping or anything, that might have been embarrassing :haha:

I never got round to putting the mattress protector on so when they went I was composed enough to not to get up straight away and woke hubby up to get me a towel and make a nappy like device so I could get to the bathroom! It's weird how I knew they'd gone as I didn't feel any liquid, must have been the 'popping' feeling!! But I did make it to the bathroom without getting any on the bed!
