Hiya girls,

I combination feed and lo has 1 bottle of formula a day (occasionally 2), the rest of the time I breastfeed. Hes nearly 10 weeks old and we use the tommee tippee closer to nature bottles. I just wondered how I would know when he needs a faster flow teat?
Thanks! xx

We switched Ellie onto the variflow teats (suitable from birth) because she started falling asleep mid bottle etc. She now takes her milk much much faster!

Usually when they start to take ages to finish a bottle and seem really frustrated - or fall asleep before they get to the end when they would normally take more milk.

I found that my tommy tippee teat would become almost inverted when LO was sucking hard to get the milk out because it wasn't coming out fast enough

If you are planning on continuing breastfeeding, I would use the slow flow nipple. If you use the faster ones, she may decide she likes the bottle better. The variflow are good too since LO can controll the flow. I BF and gave the ocassional bottle and used stage 2. We use the Avent bottles and now that she is FF she is still on stage 2. The stage 3 are just too fast for her.
