im tempted to try the aptimel comfort formula instead of the breastmilk substitute that we use at the mo
We buy the ready to use stuff but the comfprt one is only availiable in powder which is annoying.

If i decide to swap over do i introduce it gradually ?
like give her 1-2 bottles of comfort a day and carry on the usual one over a period of 2 weeks?

I dont want to upset her tummy or give her constipation from switching!

I have not changed my LOs formula other than when I had to buy a couple of different ready made cartons when I was at my Mom's. Switching didn't cause my LO any problems. But you could try just changing one feed per day to the new formula until she's completely on the new formula. This would get her system used to it gradually.

zanes has aptimal but ive never really looked at the comfort type.

how come ur thinking of swapping to this?

when zanes moved up a stage ive just started using it straight away and its never caused him problems

I changed it gradually by mixing the two formulas (this is what our GP told us to do)

But I was using powder formula, & I dont knw how u can do it with ready made.

I'm about to change formula for the second time. I've been advised to give alternate bottles of each for 2-4 days so he can get used to it gradually.

Bear in mind that comfort/easy digest formula is thicker than the stage 1, so you'll need to get the next stage or variflow teats for it.

Unless the new formular really doesn't suit, the worst you should get is slightly green poos, and possibly a slight change in texture (sorry tmi).

We use the comfort formula, it suited her because of her colic, she always has/had green poos, but asked HV and she said nothing to worry about.

I'm glad I saw this thread as we're in exactly the same boat! We use Aptamil stage 1 and want to switch to Aptamil Comfort to try and help Evie's reflux and colic and I didnt think it would be in issue to just switch straight away but reading this, it makes sense to do it gradually as it's so much thicker.
In regards to the teats, we use Avent stage 2 teats and I know these will be no good for the thicker stuff, but Avent do a teat that's designed for thicker liquids.. I take it these ones will do the trick?
Thanks ladies
