I'm now on my 7th cycle after my miscarriage, probably not classed as long term trying but it certainly feels like it. When I fell pregnant in October last year, it was on my 3rd cycle and now I'm on my 7th after I miscarried in December. Each month seems to drag and :witch: always shows up, although my cycles are regular.

Just wondered if any of you have any tips on coping with trying to conceive on a long term basis?

i have no tips unforchatly i have no choice but to be a ltttc i just have to deal with it now, it made me realise alot of things being in here like the time i have to wait i should use on me & OH and build our love even more.

hi susan_1981 don't really have any tips but think you go thru spells, some days worse than other. I find beginning of cycle i'm down in dumps then pick myself back up to prepare for ov then it's a waiting game again till :witch: turns up. I've dealt with it much better since coming on here and speaking to some wonderful people as dh and i have not told anyone were ttc.

Thanks. I know what you mean, I always get hopeful in my 2ww although my hope seems to be fading as each month goes by. I know it's only been 7 months trying, but I've actually been trying for 11 months, with just one miscarriage to show for that. I really hope this is my month but if not, then I may pop in here every so often to take some comfort with you girls who know only too well what it's like to go month after month with nothing. I suppose I just need to keep PMA and try and relax. That's what everyone keeps saying to me, "just relax and it will happen" but it's all I ever think about. I don't think I go a single hour without thinking about TTC. It certainly takes over your life!

Yeah your right it does seem to take over your life no matter how hard you try not to let it and as for relax hmmm!!!!! I've been ttc for 24 months and at times i deal with it and other days i'm an emotional wreck. Sorry about your miscarriage, keep your chin up and plenty of :dust:

I agree with you!

When searching for some comfort online one day I came across this sort of rude person but they said something that left me thinking.

They said "Did you only get married to have children... what if you could never have children.... did you not get married to spend your life with that person"

The only way that I have somewhat learned to cope with ttc for 3 years is to at least focus on my DH cause he could be the only thing I have and if we have children that would be bonus to our lives. Also our relationship needs to be strong to make it through the stresses of ttc and of raising children if we ever get that chance.

I hope this is some help.

Best wishes.

Blue12 that's really well put, after ttc for so long (6yrs) you can sometimes forget that you are with you partner/DH for other reasons than to have children & like you he is my family & if we ever manage to have a child then that would be amazing, but if not (& that would be an awful thing to face), at least we'll have each other.

Good luck to everyone
Love Jayne x
