Hi lovely ladies!

So as the title says how do you distract yourself from the constant daydreaming, stressing, obsessing, googling and thinking non stop about ttc?

I'll start

Work
Yoga (1-2 times a week but I'd like to try and do it more often)
Spending time with DH, family and friends
Playing with my cat
Pinterest (don't let myself look at baby/maternity related pins)
TV and movies
Walking (definitely need to do more of this though too)
Cooking and baking
Candy Crush (evil! Haha)

Looking for more ideas though as I'm kinda driving myself crazy atm

Xxx

Become a secondary school teacher. No time to think about LTTTC unless of course one of your pupils innocently asks you if you've got any kids.

Good thread! Buying a new house kept us occupied! An expensive distraction though. There is plenty to be getting on with making into our home properly so that helps. Also spending time with friends and cycling, I blooming love cycling! And walks, we have moved from city to country and I love exploring the many footpaths around. I volunteer for a conservation charity on my days off and I read and sew. I also do yoga. In fact I am off there in a few minutes xx keep meaning to check out pinterest, supposed to be good.

Studying
Baking
Learning a new skill, I got really into baking and learning how to decorate a cake with piping and different types of icing before I started studying
Generally keeping busy I think helps

I second learning a new skill! I started making jewelry and it's definitely keeping me occupied.

I've also been reading a lot more... it feels better for my brain than Candy Crush, although I spend plenty of time doing that too.

Redecorate your house? We also bought a house while in this process, and that was a GREAT way to distract me. It still is.

Great ideas ladies!

We bought a house last year too and there are heaps of things we want to do, but at the moment we are saving everything for ivf. But I can still plan...

Great idea about switching up candy crush with reading. I have a bunch of unread books on my kindle... I mostly only read when I go on holidays though as I usually get so into stories I literally can't put them down!

I think I find the longer I ttc the less I allow myself to get caught up so now if my boobs are tender it must be AF not pregnancy (like I assumed at the begining)

I like to look at baby ideas sometime but I like to plan everything in advance

as for distractions its mainly -

DS
relationship
university
pets

I also joined writers society in september and took part in nanowrimo

I learnt to knit and cross stitch, it completely clears your mind but nothing seems to be working at the moment I'm completely down in the dumps! Think i've hit my all time low :(

(((Hugs))) It can get so hard sometimes. If you want to talk, feel free message me at anytime.

I've just joined pinterest for extra distraction and try to keep up with my volunteering.

I'm also starting to practice meditation and yoga.

Sewing
Pinterest
Video Games
Hanging out with my child-free friends
My dogs
My birds
Writing

I definitely don't allow myself to symptom spot, either. After I ovulate, I intentionally stop checking FF or any sort of calendar where I might figure out how many dpo I am. I found that it consumed me when I started thinking about what day it was.

By going on this LTTTC thread... by seeing everyone I know post baby pictures on facebook... by repeatedly watching "what to expect when you're expecting" - ya know, the things that make you feel really great...

All jokes aside... even though that is exactly what I did the other day ;)

I'm a graphic designer/illustrator, so I find myself doodling more than ever. I've been binge watching TV shows on Netflix (godsend)... and I also have booked my schedule so I'm pretty busy. Down time = more time to think about it.

OH.. and Pinterest. I LOVE Pinterest.

Currently Minecraft is my saviour, it fills up a lot of my spare time. :D I find I only become obsessive about ttc in my tww. When i first started to ttc I became consumed by it.

Baking
Reading
Watching tv with my hubby

I'm starting some projects such as putting wedding cards in an album.
Planning a two week holiday with the in laws to the south of france

Puzzler world
Work

I signed up for some new courses online, I read a lot especially since I got a kindle for Christmas, Candy crush (drives me insane almost as much as TTC ), I was into baking and cake decorating but started to gain too much weight being the taste tester too :haha: so I've had to put this on hold and have started slimming world instead and obsess about food instead!!
I usually find its during the TWW especially if I'm in work that I start to think about TTC and also when someone else announces they are pregnant (even worse when they say 'we weren't even trying' :growlmad:)

Awesome thread!

I'm in school and that keeps me busy. Love to run & read and hang with DH.

AND...I only come onto B&B during a month that we're trying/transferring embryos. Since the last three are in me, this may be my last week on B&B since we're giving up after this.

That kills me! Happened last week, someone I know through friends told a group of us she was pregnant with their 4th and then proceeded to tell us how it was an accident (broken condom) but she's not surprised as she's so fertile she didn't try for the 1st 3 either. I want to be happy for people in this situation but really I just wanted to cry, didn't help that we're not friends and so she really didn't have to share any of that with me

Blessedlife I have my fingers and toes crossed for you :flower:

Blessedlife, I'm impressed with your self control!
