So before i go to bed i make Aliyah her bottle..
Boil the kettle then sit the bottle in cold water until it cools down,,

Just wondering how you all go about the feeds during the night?
She seems to really scream and wont stop until she gets her bottle so im seeing if anyone has any quicker routines than me lol x

I used to keep a flask with hot water & another one with cold water in additon to powder dispenser & sterlie bottle in our room. Once it's time for his feed I used to add 1 oz of hot water to the bottle, add formula from the despenser, quick stir, then add the cold water. it takes less than 1 min once u'r used to it.

I do my bottles at the one go. I'll sterilise all six then fill them all with cool boiled water to 5oz (I make up 6oz for Ethan) Then pop all six in the fridge. When I go to make one up, I'll just take it out of the fridge, boil the kettle and add 1-2 oz of boiling water which will make it nice and warm and then add my powder! It's so much easier doing it like that :flower:

I make them fresh like you but quicker.....

If its a 5oz feed you need, boil small amount of water in kettle and pour 1oz into bottle, put in 5 scoops formula, then put in 4 oz of cooled boiled water. I always have bottles with cooled water on the worktop ready. If I am doing a 6oz feed, I put in 2oz boiling water, 6 scoops, then 4oz cooled.

I find this makes them fresh and good temperature so no need to wait to cool:flower:

My method is the quickest but the most 'out dated'. I ignore that nonsense of making each feed as req'd. Ella would scream the house down waiting! All 6 feeds made up (powder and all) in the evening for the coming 24hrs and put in fridge. 30 seconds in a 1000w microwave, with a swirl half way. Done. Happy baby.
Bottle warmers take way too long and they cause some bottles to leak in my opinion. Mum swears by standing in boiling water still. We used microwave for sons bottles 6yrs ago..

i used to do this with my son (12yrs ago) and tbh i cant understand why they have changed it so much. i can buy small cartons ready made and once opened they last 24 hrs in fridge so why cant i make them up like yrs ago and store in the fridge??

i was told they go off if made up in advance, or is it just over reacting by health ppl again. im going to try to make 1 up tonight and see if it stinks lol by the morning

my mum used to make mine that way and im still here today lol
I just get paranoid now because everything has changed so much so i feel like i should follow what they say to do today insted of years ago iykwim?
But it most probably doesnt do no harm to the baby what so ever and i bet loads of people still do it the old school way x

i have done it your way today:)
seems really good and much easier, thankyou:Dx

at night, i make the bottle up with boiling water and powder, then take it upstairs, and just give it to her when she wakes up and it is at room temp, it has never done any of my 2 kids any harm.

i have done it with the boiled water etc at last feed, omg nicole had no time to cry lol. done and dusted so fast.

thanks so much

I premake them, when I did night feeds though I took water up in the bottle, and powder in a dispenser so I didn't have to take her downstairs x

I make him a bottle up before I go to bed and leave it on the side for if he wakes and then give it to him at room temp.
