How do you get a 6 month old to take antibiotic medicine?

Dd has caught impetigo off her sister. She's supposed to have her antibiotics 4 times a day, but she clamps her mouth shut and even when I manage to syringe it in, she spits most of it out! Any tips? I have tasted it and it's nasty so I don't blame her for not wanting it!

She has got some cream to go on the sore bits, so I'm hoping that'll help to clear it up too.

Could you put it in her milk, or water/juice at all..?
I feel your pain - my LO was given oral antibiotics when he was only a few months old and already suffered really bad reflux too; so even if I did get any into him (on its own, or in milk), it all just came straight back up!

You could try syringing it into the side of the mouth, that way it runs to the back of their mouth making it harder to spit out and they swallow it, I used to have to do this with my son when he was on ranitadine and that stuff is foul...

Does she take a dummy? You can buy dummys that you can put medicine in and they suck up the medicine.

Syringe into cheek then either blow on baby gently ( causes a swallow reflex) or pat babies lips with a napkin ( also causes swallow reflex).
