How do you not get involved? (for parents of older teens)

My daughter's boyfriend just broke up with her via Facebook. And not even directly. He posted something about not being with her anymore and changed his status to "single". He is 18 years old FFS! This is the equivalent of passing her a note in gym class! I just want to shake the living snot out of him for treating her this way

That is so wrong. this makes me so mad and we all know that when we are teenagers, especially teenage girls, things like this really seem like the end of the world and are very hard to deal with. Im sorry I don't know how to not get involved but you can show her that she is better than that and deserves someone better than him.
