How does clomid cycle work?

Hi Guys,

Im finally finishing all my bloods and hubbys SA on monday waiting for results now. Docs said we'll then be referred to fertility clinic im hoping we can be referred by october (even though thats next week!) & start whatever treatment they offer us IN the same cycle and not have to wait for novemeber (hey thats another month a bust...)

. For anyone whos been past this stage - do the clinics take a long time to prescribe & start a medicated cycle? will they wait until the cycle after the appointment?
