How fast does your Amber Teething Necklace work?

Just curious. LOs Amber teething necklace finally came in the mail today, and shortly after I'd opened it, she started screaming and was inconsolable. I put the necklace on her and a mere matter of minutes later she had calmed and fell asleep.

Is it possible for the necklace to kick in and work that fast or do you think its completely unrelated to the necklace at this point in time? I'd love to know your opinions.

I bought an amber necklace 2wks ago, she's been wearing it everyday, I believe it does work straight away, its not only for teething but for their immune system also!

I think they're fabulous!!

I got one from Amber Teething Necklaces.co.uk and it came from Latvia and I have not noticed any difference but the website looked reputable me

Yes you need to be careful buying baltic amber from the internet there are alot of fake ones out there.

I purchased mine from a baby shop in my local area, Im from Australia.

Although you could try www.allaboutamber.com.au this is a genuine website, they answered all my questions in regards to the necklace, even though I didnt purchase it from them!

its great to hear that to some babies these amber teething necklaces work so fine. i also bough amber teething necklace for my baby-boy online, and although I saw the result only after a day or two, I think it worked fine and really did its job I've noticed that baby was much calmer. He used to be fretful at night, but thats probably because I used to take the necklace off while he was sleeping..

I really want to spout off about the lack of any scientific fact behind this blah blah blah. I can't help it ! It's in my nature . BUT, they seem to work for so many people, who cares if it's a placebo effect or whatever?

I'm glad you ladies have found something that works so well to help you through the trauma of teething .

My 6month old just cut his 5th tooth. We was going from a happy self settling baby to really fighting his sleep, it was taking me a while every nap time to get him to sleep. I put amber on him on Tuesday night and every nap yesterday and today he has gone down without a fight.. He just seems happier! Now if only someone would invent amber STTN necklaces!!

I bought one from amber- teething-necklaces.co.uk too. It does look reputable and it came from Latvia which is a Baltic state and I think my baby is a bit calmer. The dribbling hasn't let up at all though! What symptoms have gone or improved with your lo's since wearing the amber xxx

You dont need to take the necklace off at night "they" (the company) must say to take it off to cover their own back sides, its up to you the parent if you feel safe while your baby wears it at night then you dont need to take it off, my baby wears it all day & all night!

I agree Bat. The necklaces themselves are very short so I don't see any risk as far as I'm concerned, it won't get caught on anything. My girl is currently napping in her moses next to the sofa where I'm sat wearing hers.

Beetroot, I'm glad I've found someone who bought from the same place as I did. The website came up 2nd from the top when I put in "Amber teething necklaces". I am still going to persevere with mine.
I used to think I saw results when I first got it but then for some reason I just thought I wasent seeing results anymore but I will share what happened last night (though but I hope it's not a "placebo effect").
Well, my girl was so tired and was struggling to sleep (i hold her in my arms untill she's asleep then put her down), when she would close her eyes she would cry every 5 seconds or so like she was in pain or something? We were trying so hard to help her go to sleep. Throughout the afternoon, I tried teething powder, teething rings, teething gel and nothing was working. She'd had about an hours sleep in 2 half an hour slots she was so tierd. Lastly, I put on the necklace I bought for her and no word of a lie, after maybe a minute or so, she just went to sleep! Didnt cry anymore or anything!!

(Bet I'll get laughed at now because of what I said yesterday! I'd laugh at me. But seriously, I really think it helped. I put it on her first thing this morning too so we'll see what happens this afternoon. Wish me luck!)

We've got an anklet as I feel safer with that on under her sleep suit than a necklace, but that's me, I think it works we've just cut a tooth without realising...

I was pretty skeptical when I bought mine. I would recommend them to anyone now. We had virtually no issues teething until molars (I think we'd need an amber bodysuit for those molars....).

how does this work? ive just looked it up, but there is no info on how they actually work? im a bit confused how a plastic necklace can help with teething?

Amber is a substance (fossilized tree resin), not a color. The beads are Amber, not plastic.

right that makes more sense.. so how does it work worn around the ankle, neck or wrist then? i couldnt find any info on how it works. but id defo be interested in trying if people say it helps sleep. on the aus website i saw one that was a butterscotch teething necklace not amber
