I've just started Aisling on purees late last week. I've just cooked up some apple and mashed it with a fork to put in her baby rice and wonder if I absolutely have to puree it so there's no lumps at all? She's had mashed up banana and was fine with it. She's also bitten off chunks of apple and banana and chewed and swallowed them so I can't imagine a few lumps being a problem. I could be wrong though!

Try her with it but be prepared for gagging. This is why some do BLW hence no smooth pureeing. If she needs it smoother she'll certainly let you know about it! I don't puree banana either and LO loves it as it is, but atm have blended everything else

I had wanted to do BLW and will move onto it as soon as poss but needed to start her now because of problems with weight gain. Pureeing stuff was never in my plans! I will do it if she needs it though. I'll see how she goes tonight then and hopefully she won't gag!
