How long before you fell pregnant using metformin?

hi my names Helen & im ttc i have pcos i was diagnosed with it 3 years ago i have been on metformin for 3 weeks now ( not long enough i know )

i just wondered how long women have been on metformin for and how much was they taking before they got a

im only taking two 500mg a day

any stories would be great to hear too give me hope

I was taking 1700mg a day for over a yr and sadly it did next to nothing for me. It was Clomid that got me my BFP Does work for lots of girls tho, good luck hun

im not overweight but im not actually slim either lol , i have only been on metformin for 3 weeks but have noticed i lost a little weight . thanks i also hope i get my soon

Hi Babydust.
I haven't got a success story for you yet but just thought i'd let you know that I started taking it about 4 weeks ago and as of yet i'm not pregnant. However the reason for me taking it is to make my cycles as close to 30 days as possible (My cycles were 41 -50 days) and its day 34 today and i've started spotting so it seems like its working which is great!
It has also helped regulate my temperatures (my temps were all over the place before i started taking met) so its giving me a clearer pattern of when i'm ovulating which is also great as it helps when knowing which days to me more active in the bedroom!
Have you found it's helping your temperature?

I hope we can keep in touch and hopefully we'll both get the BFP we've been waiting for.

i havent been checking my temperature but now you mentioned it i might just take a look

i always have a period just sometimes last longer then what they should which sucks =/ well i wish you luck and i hope we both get that we are both waiting for =)

how do you check if your ovulating ? i had my 21 progesterone day on monday but i wont get the result to see if i ovulated till i go back to the hospital in september im thinking about buying home ovulation tests

HI, I was told i had PCOD in 2008 ... but didnt start taking metformin till feb 2009 ...it only took me 3 months on 1000mg a day to get pregnant ... and my dr took me off it at week 5 ... and i had a very good pregnancy ... and now have a beautiful 23 month old boy! ... and currently juss started back on the metformin again to try for another ! ...

I have pcos and my gyno put me on metformin... I think this drug acts different on alot of people... I couldn't up my dose to the 3 a day like my gyno asked because I would get stomach cramps ect.... I'm now going for a hsg and starting clomid because metformin just wasn't for me.... Hope u get your bfp very soon good luck x
