how long can made-up formula be kept in the fridge for?

On the Aptamil tub I am pretty sure it says once made up use within 2 hours.

I don't FF but am considering it, so I may be wrong, but I thought made-up formula bottles could be kept in the fridge for 24 hrs, and warm each bottle as needed. A fresh bottle at room temp or a warmed one from the fridge shouldn't be kept longer than 2 hrs. If the cold bottles aren't used in 24 hrs, chuck them.

yeah back in the day where it was ok to make them up in advance it was recommended no longer than 24 hours - i was still making in advance until a couple of weeks ago now i just use ready made

I agree with the above. I make my bottles up by adding the powder to previously cooled water, but I wouldn't keep it for any longer than 2 hours once powder is in water and at room temp. x

we premade bottles (boiled water, added it to the bottle, added the powder and stored immediately in the fridge) and I was told they were good for 24 hours. bottles that had been out though or that were partially used I was told to throw out after an hour

I was told in the hospital that it's best to make as needed but that's highly impractical, so the best way to do it is to boil kettle, then make up as usual, cool quickly in cold running water, then put in very back of fridge and use within 24hours xx

If kept in the fridge 24 hours, if warmed and used, throw away after 1-2 hours.

As said above if cold bottles then they are good for 24h in fridge but if at room temp then should use them within 1-2h. x

When i had my daughter i used to make up tomorrows batch when she had gone to bed at night, i made them with boiling water and put them in the fridge, warmed them as needed the next day and she was absolutely fine, will be doing the same thing with this one also once we get into a routine :) xxxx

Make sure they are at the back of the fridge too as this is the coldest part :D

We did the 24 hour thing... and like it's been said, anything that was heated, or left out was dumped after an hour.
The formula manufacturers just have to state time frames, shorter if anything, to cover their butts for the big WHAT IF...
I can admit having bad mommy moments and giving Grady the wrong bottle and it being out for hours.. he's still fine, nothing wrong with him!

i think the main thing is to make the formula up with the hot water (left to cool for between 25-30 mins) as it kills the bacteria in the powder at that temp. then we put at back of fridge and use within 24 hours :)
