how long did does it take to recieve child tax credits?

hi i'm sitting here trying to work out how on earth i am going to pay my bills and b4 i call companys to work out payment plans i was wondering if ne1 knows how long it takes to start recieving child tax credits???

Mine took around 7 weeks but that was only because i was still on my mums claim for child tax credits, i rang up after about 6 weeks to see when my claim would be sorted and they said my mum needed to ring and take me off her claim and then mine would be sorted. My backpayment was in my bank 2 days after my mum phoned up to take me off her claim

Why not give them a quick call. They probably wont be able to say exact time but They should be able to say what there average claim time is. Phone and say 1st wanted to chack if you received my claime. Then go from there.

We phoned the tax credits place yesterday and ours is going in the bank on the 23rd, all backdated too. So it's taken roughly 2 1/2 weeks

i got a payment yesterday from them but not including any back dated amounts so i called them and the woman said she will refure it to the tax office to try and get it done for me but it can take up to 4 weeks. they awarded me 65 a week so that means they still need to pay me £260.
