Hello there.
I'm new to these forums so just a little about myself first. I'm 27 and my dh is 33. We got married last August and really want to start a family!
Now for my question.

I had been on various BCP's since I was 16, seasonale for the last 3 years. I went off about 2 1/2 months ago and haven't had a period yet. I also stopped taking a low level anti depressant around the same time.

I've been experiencing withdrawal like crazy, I am sure some of the emotional instability I experienced was due to stopping Celexa and this never ending Canadian winter...and night shifts, night shifts make me cranky.

The bigger issue has been my dizziness I have been experiencing dizziness so bad it feels like I'm just going to fall over and it makes me really anxious to the point I've felt like I was going to have a panic attack. There has been an improvement but I have been experiencing this for a solid month now.
I've also been getting really bad acne, worse then I ever experienced as a teenager! my chest and face are full of big red bumps. It's really embarrassing!

I want to know if anyone else experienced these things, and how long it took for them to go away. I'm hoping for the light at the end of the tunnel because this is miserable!

Yes, yes and yes. It was horrible. I had major mood issues when I stopped the pill - I cried almost every day for a few months.

I also went to the hospital with severe dizziness like you are describing. They diagnosed me with vertigo. I told them I thought it was from coming off the pill but they completely dismissed me - I am still certain that is what caused it.

And my back, well... It looked like a meth head's face. I used a lot of apricot scrub and salicylic acid, which helped it, but my skin didn't really start to get better again until my obgyn put me on clomid after 8 months of long/irregular cycles.

Did you go on bcp for pcos or cysts when you were younger?

The mood and dizziness will improve. It took me about four-six months to feel right. I know that's a long time, but it does end.

If your period doesn't come within a few weeks, of course I'd recommend testing, but if that is a negative, call your obgyn and they will give you provera to induce.

Hope that helps - sorry for your struggles!

Thanks so much for responding, it does help to hear of someone else going through it, I was wondering if I should consider going to my doctor soon but didn't think they'd do much, I didn't know they could more or less jump start my period.

I didn't go on it because of PCOS or cysts, I was actually getting my period too often, and totally randomly. My Mom has PCOS and I don't have any of her symptoms.

I have tested a couple times in hopes maybe I just tested too early but I keep getting negatives.
