What title says. How many house viewings did you have?
From point you started ball rolling to move in, how long did that take till day got keys?

Thanks

We looked at about 4 houses before we found this one. Gotta say, i loved each and every one of them at the time (i just wanted any house really- as long as we got to move in 2getha!) but OH has more of a sensible head on him and we only put an offer in on one, and that offer was accepted. I think from accepting the offer to moving in it was about 4 weeks! But we weren't in a chain, and neither were they. Thinking back about the other houses tho- none of them even compare to this one, and im so glad OH didnt let me bully him into getting a sooner one!

We didnt move in straight away (tempting as it was), we were both still living with parents, so we stayed there while we decorated the main bedroom and the living room. If you're in a position to do this id highly recommend it. It meant that even tho the rest of the house was a tip, we still had those 2 finished rooms to retreat to. We eventually moved in about 5 weeks after getting the keys! Hope this helps! Best of luck with the house hunting!

We looked at about 6 houses before this one - we started looking in about mid-september last year, had our offer accepted on Dec 24th and moved in middle of March!

I fell in love with our house on the internet and decided then and there that we were going to buy it

That was in the June - we viewed it a week later and decided it was definitely going to be ours, sorted out mortgage offer that week and kicked back our heels as didn't want to be too eager. Had second viewing a week after that and went in with a ridiculously low offer 2 days later (which they accepted  )

Our old house was due to complete in June so with a lot of breath holding we completed on our house and then just waited for the new one to complete. We told owners we needed to move in 1st week of august as DH is a teacher and we wanted to move in summer holidays so they moved into rented and we completed on the 8/8/8 and got our dream house :cloud9:

Probably took about 8 weeks from 1st viewing to completion but we were in a good position and there was no way I was letting this house get away from me :)

I'll let you know

We had our offer accepted 3 weeks ago, bearing in mind we had an agreement in principal lined up with the mortgage company. We're currently waiting for the contracts to be drawn up.......

We're currently buying the very first house we saw. It's just the right size in just the right location for the right price. We viewed it twice on the same day (dragging my Dad along the second time) and put an offer in which was accepted the next day. That was almost 3 weeks ago. There's no chains at all but we weren't expecting to be putting an offer on a house just yet so we didn't have the mortgage in principle. We've got that now and things are progressing. :happydance:

We had our offer accepted a week and a half ago - it was the third house we viewed, I saw it on my own, took OH back a few days later and put in our offer a week after I first viewed it. I'd been eyeing it up online for a while, but thought we coudn't afford it. It turned out that when they said offers in excess of x amount, what they actually meant was 'offer us x amount and we'll take it' ;)

We're hoping to complete and move in by the end of July, so that there's no risk of clashing with Imogen's arrival. We've had our survey done on the new place, and we're selling our place to a cash buyer, so hopefully we'll be able to move pretty quickly.

We viewed 5 houses before this one. We viewed on Sunday, made an offer on the Monday that was accepted. We got the keys 10 weeks later :)

It took about a week to find the house I wanted, had about 2-3days of haggling with offers, finally got one accepted, and then it was about 2months at the most until we got the keys.

We've fallen in love with 2 houses but are not ready to buy yet. We need to save another $5K. It's such a shame a lousy $5K is between us and a house, but we want to do this on our own.. no help from parents for the down payment/legal fees... we also have to wait 6mos to establish a credit rating.

We got our AIP first before we looked as we didnt want to be out of our reach, got that June 19th 2007, looked at a few houses, then made an offer on a brand new house, we were in on August 24th 2007. So about 8ish weeks total.

Good Luck, its very exciting buying your first house.

This was our 3rd viewing, put an offer in as soon as we'd come back for a second visit! Had to snap it up before someone else did :D Thankfully DF could see beyond what was here as i was unconvinced. Now its awesome :D

We looked at about 8 houses, put in an offer, got the survey back, pulled out, did the s same again and then settled on our final house - so we viewed about 15 houses in total.

I would recommend getting at least a homebuyers survey if the house isn't new build. We did and it was worth the money, as we were able to negotiate money off the house. A friend at work didn't and has had nightmares with her house (damp, subsidence). I'm not wanting to scare you, but if you are going to spend that much money, its worth getting it checked out. If you aren't sure, you can always call up the surveyor for an off the record chat. We did and his opinion made us change our mind about one house.
