How long did it take you to conceive before mc?

Hi ladies,

So as everyone may have been told 'you are more fertile after a miscarriage' I thought I would see if it's true and if anyone has any success stories or maybe not much success after a loss.

So how long did it take to conceive before your MC and have you conceived since or how long have you been trying since?

Hope this post doesn't offend anyone, I had a MC on Tuesday and am still bleeding but coming to terms with TTC straight away again, it took us 9 months to get pregnant and I'm so scared it's going to take as long this time.

Can't comment but am following as very interested in this. Finally started bleeding on Thursday and think I passed most of it in an hour - had very light bleeding since. We were 3 years with nothing then first IVF was this mmc. As we were unexplained am wondering if we might get a natural BFP.

Am not going to wait a cycle either. Have a scan on Wednesday to check all is gone and if so will get straight on with it. I think I have to have two normal periods before we can go back to IVF.

Hi Wanttobemum, I'm so sorry for your loss mine was Tuesday and it's just awful isn't it.

Can't imagine how it must have felt to be trying for 3 years, we were also told we were unlikely to conceive naturally and I went on to get pregnant the following month so anything is possible! It's given me the confidence we can do it naturally, I'm obviously just anxious we could be waiting a long time again.

Hopefully some ladies can give us some advice from their experience. Just mentioned to hubby about booking a night away as soon as bleeding stops, may as well start TTC in style hah. Hope your okay lovely, I'm sure you will get a BFP soon, fingers crossed naturally! Xxx

Thanks MissGossip and you too. How funny but I also said to DH about a night in a hotel and maybe a show. As we have DS who's 4 (and luckily makes it this a bit easier to bare) the only thin we have done together on our own lately have been very sad, so I want to change the balance!

I had a mmc before my first, after which we ttc' again straight away. My first pregnancy (which ended in mmc) was conceived in our first month of trying, after the mmc we had two unsuccessful cycles, then bfp. I'm sorry, I don't think that's what you want to hear.
I'm currently having another mmc, after two successful pregnancies. Waiting for surgery on Thursday, which seems like an age away. We haven't talked about ttc again, because the mc isn't even over. But I'm assuming when we do, we'll decide to try straight away (or possibly just not try again but I think that's unlikely). I'm kinda hoping it would be very quick this time. I hate ttc at the best of times and after a loss it's just so much harder to have to wait to find out.

We lost our baby Eden in August at 15 weeks - it was a 'whoops' pregnsncy and not planned but we were happy

I then fell pregnant in Oct, miscarried in Nov

Fell pregnant straight away in Nov but miscarried Dec

Fell pregnant Dec and just got my Bfp a couple of days ago.

Not sure if it's true you're more fertile straight after a mc but ive certainly never fell pregnant so quickly before.

I'm so sorry for your loss

My first pregnancy we conceived in our first month of trying, but I miscarried at 5 weeks (just a few days after finding out we were pregnant). We initially decided to wait for my first AF before TTC again but it didn't quite work out that way and exactly one month on from the MC I found out I was pregnant again and we had a healthy baby boy at 38+1

Then when it came to TTC our second, we conceived in my second month off the pill, it was a twin pregnancy but I had a mmc and d&c at 10 weeks We waited for AF and then I conceived again in our first month of trying and we had another healthy baby boy at 38+4

Then for TTC our third, we conceived in our second month of trying, and had an early scan showing a baby with a heartbeat at 7 weeks but at 10 weeks I had another scan and was told I'd had another mmc, which I had medically managed the following day. A month later I was told that my histology results had shown it was a molar pregnancy, so I needed follow up for 6 months to make sure my HCG levels were dropping as they should. They did, very quickly and after 6 months we were given the all-clear to try again, but we weren't sure if we wanted to at that point, so have been on a looooong break from even thinking about it- until a couple of months ago. Now our tentative plan is to possibly start TTC for baby number 3 again in March. I am gearing myself up for another loss though as it seems like that's more likely than not

I fell pregnant in Feb when my second was a year old (so a year of ntnp) but had a mc, fell pregnant again in May (after taking a month out) but mc again. Fell pregnant again in June, and August but mc again. Then again in September but mc. Then again in November and December but mc again!

So yes, I can get pregnant easily but can't stay pregnant!!

I had a missed miscarriage February of 2015 but the baby stopped growing in January. When we conceived our baby it was our first cycle of trying. We weren't necessarily set on trying but he had gone back and forth and we had one possible day of conception. We were shocked it happened so quick but we also lost our baby so quick. This was devastating but we went on to keep trying. We are now on cycle 11 of TTC and its hard not to lose hope. I too have heard it's easier to get pregnant afterwards but unfortunately for us this was not the case as we have been trying for almost a year now. We currently do not have any living children so we would love our rainbow baby as well.

I had a CP one month before conceiving my boy, I got pregnant in Feb 2014, but it was after a CP after 5 months of trying but it ended up in a mmc in April 2014. We were NTNP after the mc, I got BFP in May 2015 but it was a blighted ovum.

All my pregnancies are after a mc so it's not much help

We took 4 cycles to conceive the first time after coming off the pill, sadly that was an early MC. I took 3 cycles to conceive again after my first MC. After my second (D&C) it took is 9 months to fall again. Sadly I am now loosing that pregnancy also, so we have decided not to try again until we have been seen by a specialist and all investigations are complete. I guess it varies each time how long it takes.
