how long did you bleed for after a c-section?

Hi ladies.. I had an emergency c-section 18 days ago and was wondering how long it would take for the bleeding to completely stop? Its slowed down a lot and is now brown in colour (sorry tmi). How long after birth did you ladies stop bleeding? Xx

oh wow I remember reading some of your posts when i was pregnant and after having my section, Uh lets see i think i bled for about four weeks but the heavy bleeding that they speak of never really came, for example i never had it dripping down my leg or soiling the bed sheets and all over my clothes, it was a painless heavy period for about seven days then it went green as i had an infection which is not normal but otherwise after four weeks i got my proper period bang on my birthday lol typical but you can tell the difference as the lochia does not stay red and heavy for four weeks, its light and spotty but the period OUCH it hurt, the cramps...but yeah four weeks or three and a half really

Had the brown at 11 days this time, but today leaked red. It can come and go like that. Hoping mine will end soon.

I had my 1st planned section on 11th October and bled right up until the past few days where it seems to have stopped, so around 4/5 weeks.

It kept stopping then starting again but think it has finally ended now, thankfully!

I only bled for 2-3 days with just tiny spotting on the 4th with my first. Kind of scared to see how it's going to go with my 2nd.

Same here! In fact was told one of the benefits of section over v delivery was the reduced bleeding. I have however had a bit of brown blood yesterday and today (3 week post section) after a bit of overexertion.

Holy cow, I must be the odd ball. I only bled for 4weeks after my vaginal birth but bled for almost 7 weeks with my c-section! I also had really heavy bleeding with both. In fact when the nurse came with me to the bathroom for the first time after my c-section she had to mop the floor because it was dripping so much!

2+ months... very heavy the first 2 or 3 weeks. Then it was just pretty constant gushes every now and then, or spotting.

There was no "crime scene" bleeding for me either, just more of a heavy period kind of bleeding that stopped at about 2-2.5 weeks PP. Then I started bleeding a bright red/new blood color a week or so later...assumed it was PP period, but now I haven't had anything since--then again that could be because I'm exclusively BFing.
