I had my section a fortnight ago and was just wondering how long it takes stitches to dissolve? The op site is so neat I can't even see the stitches - how do they do it?! Also, when will I know when I can start doing more e.g lifting my nearly 3yr old, driving etc? Thanks!

I had a section 3 weeks ago but I'm not sure how long they take to dissolve as mine were non dissolvable ones that got taken out at the 5 days check.

You can start getting back to normal and doing things as soon as your doctor signs you off - usually at 6 weeks. However my friend was signed off at 6 weeks so started back into her normal routine - gym etc and her scar ruptured, so I'd say take it easy until you feel 100%, I know I will be!
