Hiya Girls,

Sorry to ask such a grim question, I'm 20DPO and have had feint bfp's since last sat, a digi that said 1-2 when i should be 3-4, and today my line has faded into nothing, and I know whats coming.

I'm gutted, I know its all over, but I was wondering how long it would be till AF/MC started and I started bleeding.

I have a GP appt wednesday, so will ask her if it hasnt started by then.

Could anyone give me a rough idea or is it just a case of wait and see?

:(

Claire

Hi I am sorry to hear your bad news.

It really is a case of wait and see, but if the tests are showing highly decreased hcg then I think it probably won't be long.

I had a m/c at 6 weeks aa few months ago, and I had a bad feeling so I took a test which only showed a faint line, and I started bleeding the next night.

But of course, you may not be m/c at all and there may be some other reason for the weak result on a test.

Good Luck

Hi Claire, I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through this. I was in pretty much the same situation as you a week and a half ago - I got a positive HPT at 12dpo, and kept testing, and the lines seemed to get stronger for 4 days. But the CB digi never showed anything other than 1-2 weeks from conception. The when I tested 19dpo the lines seemed to be a bit fainter. I got some light brown discharge that day, and started bleeding properly the following afternoon. Luckily for me it was no worse than ordinary AF, except for a few tiny clots.

I think it does vary from woman to woman, but because it's early for you like it was for me, if you are m/c, I think there's a good chance that it will all be over quite quickly.

But I'd echo what MrsO says - there may be some other reason for the faintness of your lines. I saw my doctor the day before I started bleeding, and also rang NHS direct - both told me that I should not read too much into the tests, and shouldn't be thinking the worst if I wasn't actually bleeding! Unfortunately I did start bleeding the next day - but it's not necessarily a foregone conclusion in your case.

I really hope that you'll be ok. But I can understand why you're worried, and if does turn to be bad news, I hope that it is quick and painless, so that you can get on with trying again asap. Best of luck

I'm sorry hun I don't know the answer to your question, but just wanted to say try not to worry too much (I know, it's easy for me to say!) as nothing is definite until you see your GP. Hormones are funny old things and HPTs aren't always fully reliable in the early stages.
Fingers firmly crossed for you that everything will be ok xx

Thanks Guys, Shame they dont do predictor strips for Hormones/Moods/AF the world would be a less stressful place lol! :)
