how long to receive awards.notice- tax credits?

Hi everyone!

Just received my application form today, already filled half out so will be sending it tomorrow. Just wondering for you ladies that claim them how long did it take to receive your first payment? I'm really worried at the minute as I only have my mat pay and it doesn't even cover half of the bills fob doesn't have any money as he isn't working so am.I able to let them.know so they process the claim quicker? Really clueless on all this as its the first time I will have claimed anything

I got my payment in about 2 weeks from sending it, got 4 weeks back pay too, nearly £500.

It is pretty quick, like 2weekw. Have you applied for housing benefit too?

Thanks ladies made me feel a bit better! I've just put my application in for housing lemontree they said it would be 5-10 working days for that xx
