Did it take for your child benefit claim to go through?? And child tax credit?? I applied 3 weeks ago and havent heard anything?? Child beneift wont speak to you unless its been 12 weeks but say you should have first payment in 2 weeks? First time doing this so just a bit confused lol!!!

I got paid my child benefit back payment after 3 weeks and then i recieved the letter a couple of days after and i started getting child tax credits after about 8 weeks and had a letter a week after

I'm still waiting for my child benefit and it's been over 10 weeks. I just called them just now and they are 'still processing my claim'.

I told the girl that this was a despicable amount of time to take and that I pitied the poor parents who were in desperate need of the money. Needless to say, my comments were met with silence.

Absolute disgrace.

We got our child benefit after 3 weeks I think. We won't get any child tax credit until my SMP stops, but then, we will really need the money! How stupid that it can take that long. I think the problem is that the people who man the phones are of course not the people who decide how long it takes, they probably agree it's stupid so don't know what to say when you complain.
