Ive searched the internet but cant get an exact figure but roughly how low is low fluid? what usualy happens when they go low? Im just after routh ideas ect. Thanks

5-25 is the norm but honestly when you get close to 5 they start monitoring. I was at 9.7 and was being monitored. If you get below 5 and are close enough they will often induce, what were your levels?

agreed...my dr said less than 5cms is worry time due to possible cord compression...5-10 is low enough to have monitoring, 10-18 is normal, 18-25 is another reason to monitor for polyhydraminos (sp?), and above 25 is considered polyhydraminos (again sp?)

Could you be a bit dehydrated? The more you drink the more amniotic fluid can be produced, so drinking lots of water helps.

Baby can survive with no fluid at all (one of my twins did for ten weeks) but the main concern would be lung development. However, at 32 weeks, you don't need to worry about that.

I can see why doctors may be worried about cord compression, but again, my LO survived inside me for ten week swith no fluid at all.

Also, I think they may be worried about the reason there is low fluid, are babies bladder/kidneys working properly etc. I assume they have checked that though, and it's good that levels are increasing.

I've just been in hospital after ruptured membranes. The fluid measured for me was 5.2 and was told that was normal.

Fluid has gone up from 2.9cm to 4.3 so they still going to keep eye on me and said if movements change what so ever to go straight in..thanks everyone
