I am about to head home from a 3 week stint in hospital with the LO after his birth and wil be combo feeding breast milk and formula by bottle- how many bottles do u all have and how many of the relevent teats? I will have slow flow to start with but wasnt sure if i needed 8 teats and 8 bottles to make food up in advance?
thanks

I've always felt it's best to have enough bottles to get you through 24 hours. Needing to wash them twice a day gets to be a drag pretty quickly!

Have you already got any kind of routine established with your combo feeding? If so, just get enough bottles (which come with stage 1 teats) to cover what you usually use in a day. If you were just FF I'd suggest 6-8, but you might not need that many depending on how much you BF.

We combi feed too, when Callum came out of hospital we got 8 bottles to see us through, now we have 12 xx

I managed with 2 bottles in hospital, and it was enough. Fair enough I would need to wash a bottle after each feed, but it was okay. If you want to be comfortable though, perhaps take enough for the day; about 6, just to be sure. You're never too far away from the sink, so you can wash and sterilise pretty quickly.

what size bottle did u all get? I got a tomee tipee set with 6 bottles in, 2 of which are smaller but only got 2 of each teat, so do I need to more teats too then? thanks
