I was a bit shocked the other day when a friend said she had only one dummy. I have 7!

Is this a lot? I always have a spare in her change bag, she spits them down the side of the cot at night too. We have clips for out and about so they don't end up in a puddle.

I like having pretty ones too.

We have 4. I always take a spare one out with me just incase the first one gets lost. She doesnt really use the dummy much though so we've had the same dummies for about 6 months. Even at night it just sits in her cot behind her head so she can get it if she wants. X

We have 4 too but he doesn't use them much so I find its just enough for us. I breastfeed so don't have a sterilizer on all the time so I will always make sure we have at least 4.

My first was formula fed and loved the dummy and I think I had 8 with him because he was always dropping then down the side of the cot and out of the pushchair. I couldn't imagine just having 1.

We only ever had 2 at any one time (mostly because they come as a set of 2 really, or else maybe I could have only had one). We only used them for nighttime and sometimes but not always for daytime naps (like if she was sick or unwell). If we were out and about, in the car, in the pushchair, even if she was sleeping, we didn't need them and we never used one when she was awake. It was really only when she slept alone, which was only at night. But yes, having a second one was handy for when one somehow went missing in the middle of the night and we couldn't find it.

Around 10 up until recently when we lost some and they haven't been replaced so I reckon around 6 now

DD has 4. 3 are kept in her bedroom and 1 in her nursery bag (she only has them for sleeping).

DS2 has 7 lol. 2 in his cot, 3 loose downstairs and 1 attached to each pram.

I hate trying to find them or remembering to take them with me so find having lots easiest!

We have 7 at the moment :( They're everywhere, yet I can never find one when I need it. I have a couple in her room, a couple in ours (she comes into bed with us some point every night), one in the changing bag, and a couple in the living room.

I'm trying to reduce her need for them in the day (I posted a thread a few days ago about that) but am finding it difficult - maybe she's over-reliant on the dummy for comfort, as she will be actively sucking away on it sometimes while playing etc. She seems reluctant to not have it in the day, so I'm trying to reduce it gradually, just by not making one available to her, and trying all other comfort techniques before I give her the dummy. I want her really just to use it for sleeping, and to give up entirely before too much longer if she can.

I have two with dummies. There are about 8 that I can find, but probably 100 more hiding in the house. I buy them all the time! Always have a couple in the changing bag, steriliser, cots... Usuly one in my jacket pocket. They are everywhere!

I'm not actually sure - loads! There are always 2 in his nursery bag, 2 in the changing bag, he goes to bed with 3 or 4 in his cot (so he can easily find one in the night) and as we have to wash used ones there's a few extra as they circulate around.

7. And still can't find them when we need them even though we also have four clips!

I don't know for sure but maybe 20? Madness I know

15-20ish.

Her brand and nipple size (Tommee Tippee 6-18m) sells out very quickly at all stores so I always stock up when I see them on the shelf.

My LO had one from a few weeks old until he was 9 months. He only ever had one, the same one (minimal use ... naps and sleep)

He only wanted to take one specific one, even the same brands and make etc didn't matter he wanted the SAME one always.

Well I had about 20 but he only took one, put it that way that's more accurate :haha: Kept on trying to get him to take a different one.

2. She pretty much has one in her mouth constantly! Even when I take it out and hide it she finds the other one.

I have about 6-8. One in the diaper bag, one follows me around the house and a bunch extra in her nursery lol.

I like the soothie ones, the one she got in the hospital is her favorite. I also have a few different sizes and 2 that glow in the dark. (im so fancy.. ;) )

My LO only takes them for sleep and I don't like having them on a clip when she's in the cot as it would be uncomfortable if she rolled over on it. She has now taken to trowing them out of the cot so I keep another one on my bedside table.

We only had 5 of the 7 usable for a while though as I bought the 6-18m size and she wouldn't take them. Then I went out one night and OH grabbed a bigger one by accident and convinced her.

Glad I'm not the only one with a lot! Plus we have has 2 break on us (the plastic cracked), one ended up in a dirty nappy (I still don't know how) so I like having backups.

I'm thinkig of retiring two as they were her very first.

Off hand, no clue. Educated guess, 15 or so  She loses them so often that I have at least 5 in a drawer, there are 6 in my car and there's one at day care and one in her crib plus all the ones lost in oblivion. Lol

I have 6 in rotation, can't imagine only having 1! Mind you I work in a nursery and quite a few of the parents take the dummy the child has in nursery home with them then bring it back the next day.
