I've got a lot of nursing spaghetti strap tank tops from my sisters but they had summer babies so i can't use those other than pj's or house clothes.. they aren't really presentable shirts? i found a couple on motherhood maternity but by the time im done picking out a few things my cart is over $200!! They also have a sale on right now buy 3 nursing bras get one free... is four enough/too many? How many decent nursing shirts do/will you have? Are they even all that "essential"?? Thanks!! :flower:

I have 2 nursing bras, one 'comfy' one and one padded one (I thought I'd only like the padded cup on as its like my old bras but the sales lady made me buy the 'old lady one' too and I'm glad I did as I use that one the most! :haha:)

In the early days ie first 2 months I just lived in nursing tanks, I have 4. I just wore them around the house with a sweater or housecoat and I'd throw a tshirt over them when I went out.

I only have 2 real nursing tops but I never use them. I just do the 2 shirt method, top shirt up and tank top down! I'd def wait to buy real nursing tops after baby is born when you figure out what you'll be comfortable with/what works for you :flower:

I've gotten several tops and tanks second hand, that's the way to do it if you ask me... I have no idea what I will use most, but I suspect you will use the tanks more than you think! :)

I got 2 nursing bras from sears (the were on sale for $19.99 last weekend)
Might need to get another one around my due date a cup sized bigger, I've read breasts get much more engorged closer to.
Motherhood & Thyme are so expensive! Shop around locally, you might get lucky :flower:

i cant shop locally haha i live in a touristy little fishing village :haha: my only options are 3.5 hours away or online!

love the 2 shirt method!

I'm not getting any.. Ill buy a couple of non wired bras though for comfort but I'm choosing to Ff xx

I went to thyme maternity the other day, and I'm happy I did rather than shopping online. The back of the store was full of clearance items, due to the change-over in seasons and they had lots of nursing shirts for under 10.00 each!

My friend bought some long line vest tops (the type with adjustable shoulder straps) and wore them back to front so her tummy was covered and the "neckline" sat just below her bra - then she'd wear whatever she wanted on top. It was easier to pull the upper layer upwards to feed and keep her tummy covered, than fiddle about with buttons/slits etc on purpose made nursing tops.

Like a PP said, I don't have any nursing tops. Just one nursing tank and some other stretchy tank tops that I can pull down after pulling up my shirt. If you've already got a bunch of nursing tanks, I think this is the way to go. I love them because they cover up my flabby, stretch marked belly too!

I have three nursing bras, all from Thyme. My mom bought them for me, bless her heart! One is a sleeping one (no wires), and I wear it every night with nursing pads in case I leak. The next is an underwire one that I wear during the day (also with nursing pads!). It is not padded, but it is nice and stretchy and fits really well. The third one is padded, and it does not fit well, so I never wear it. My boobs will fall out if they are not the exact right size (for example, if I've just fed Ozzy and they are too small, lol).

So, two is enough for me. You may want to just buy one close to your due date and then wait to buy more until your milk comes in. Then you will know if they will really fit well.

I only have 2 nursing bras, and about 3 nursing tops.
