For the ladies who's LO's are 3 to 4 months old ...

How many ouces per day are your LO's having?

Brookes having 4 x 7oz bottles and 1 x 6oz bottle and some baby rice. So in total about 35oz (including the milk in the rice)

Another LO on here is having the exact same and her HV has told her its far too much!! Got me wondering if we're all heading along the same lines with feeding?

Patrick is 12week and hes having 6oz 5x a day. they told me it was too much too hun, but he wont settle on anything less.

When jacob was 3 months he was having HEAPS about 30-35oz a day now im lucky if i can get him to take more than 16oz :dohh: he just isnt interested anymore but is on 3 meals a day. I think she is doing perfect :) each baby is diff some need more than others as long as she is happy nothing to worry about :) XxxxX

Well since she puts on about 1lb every 3 weeks and has stuck to the 25th percentile thing since she was born, that it was a good amount.

Some days she will take as little as 30oz then others up to 35oz.

Stupid HV's cant make their minds up, im waiting for a full scale row this afternoon if the HV finds out Brooke is on baby rice

Sometimes it better to just keep it to your self hun, my friends little boy was on 8oz every 2-4hours when he was 10days old....she couldnt fill him at all and at 10weeks he was eating rusks...she told her HV about how much milk he was taking and all hell let loose...but at the end of the day what are you meant to do? Follow "Guidelines" and leave your baby hungry or follow your instincts?

Rosie has 6oz bottles every 4 hours, she has 5 bottles during the day.. I do dreamfeed her but she usually only takes 2oz, and then her next bottle she will never take a full one!!

Lexie has a HUGE appetite! She is currently having feeds at
6am (7oz), 9.30am (6oz + baby cereal) ,12.30pm (6oz), 4.30pm (6oz + baby rice with some kind of veg puree), 7.30pm (6oz) 11pm (6oz), 3am (5oz)
So i make that 42 oz. There is no way i could give her any less, my hv has given me advise in how to try and replace her 4.30pm feed with just solids. I'm so aware though that she is still very young so for the next week we have to do the milk and rice with a little verg to try and get her use to it! She also use to sleep through from 7.30pm to 6.00am!......not anymore!
Reading about others experiances with the hv's i must say i feel really lucky to have someone who knows each baby is different. xx

Annabelle has 5 bottles of 6oz and wont finish her last one will only drink about 4oz

i dont think this is enough as she is almost 4.5months but if i up the bottle to 7oz she throws it all up.

well Hannah's never been a big milk drinker, so she's not that good to go by but she probably had around 24 ounces in 24 hours at that time (actually we never got past the 28 ounce line and most of the time she hovered around 24 ounces)

at brooke's age maddi was having 6 6oz bottles, i remember them saying it was too much, so i told them to stuff it! she was fine, sleeping through the night (8 till 8) and i wasn't going to see her go hungry. you follow your instincts sweetie, she's doing fab x

Kaysie was on about 25-30ozs a day. Naomi-Mae was on less than that due to her reflux, and Morgan he was on about 40ozs lol.

You say Brooke has stuck to her centile, then that shows she is getting the right amount of food, if the hv says anything ignore her. x

Liss was having 3 x 6oz and 2 x 7oz (at night) but she has just started to grumble 3 hourly for food so I have upped to 5 x 7oz - HV told me that if they want it to give it, its not fair to let them go hungry, she also said while there is space in the bottle to up the oz's rather than go to something like hungry baby formula so there is a back up close to weaning time. So i am just going to do what I think is right and worry about weight when solids occur, like my HV suggested :)

2 weeks ago Danny was on about 7 6-8 oz bottles and a full jar of food before bed. Now he's down to 4 8 oz bottles. I'm thinking he's finished a growth spurt.

Serens having 4x 7oz bottles a day (every 3hrs) and she sleeps 12hrs so no bottles in the night.

Leo has 4 8oz bottles a day.
He sleeps from 10pm till about 8 or 9am
x

Logan has 6 4-5oz bottles in 24 hours and a bit of babyrice on a teatime !

alex is nearly 10 wks old and has 5 x 6oz feeds during the day and sleeps 9 hrs at night, but he's started crying after his feeds and still looks hungry so I'm going to ask the hv about upping his feeds. she told me last time i wasn't feeding him enough - even though he'd put on 1lb 5 ozs in two weeks!

I've wondered this myself.

Claire normally has 5 7oz bottles during the course of 24 hours... which is around 35ounces. She's been having that since she was two months though, and the other week my HV said that those amounts are for the 3-4 month age!

I might have to add another ounce as she's starting to wake in the night for feeds again. Not happy about that! Although I weighed her on my own and she's in the 75th percentile for weight... that's up from the 50th at her two month check up. So I dunno. Too much, perhaps?

She could have hit a growth spurt? I honestly wouldn't worry about it unless she's getting sick off of it.....
