How many ozs does your 8 week old take?

So,I know my little man takes quite a lot under the 'recommendation' so I'm curious to see what the kind of 'normal' is.

Lennon was born weighing 6lb 7oz and since then he's stayed between the 2nd and 9th centile and can't even finish a 3oz bottle yet

How much does your LO take (and how much did they weigh when they were born) if you don't mind telling me ladies?

hiya my lo was born 5lb 10oz! she has just this week gone up to 5oz 4 times a day which is under the amount she should be! she has followed the 2nd centile since birth. they should have roughly 2 1/2 ounces per pound of body weight! how many times a day does your lo feed???

Oh yay another 2nd centiler! Thank you for replying.

The only way I can get any milk in him is to offer feeds every 2 hours and he'll have about 1 1/2 oz,maybe 2 oz at most.So he's averaging about 3oz every 3 hours. Thats under what it should be really but he's sticking to his centile and doing well so I'm ok with it.
Is your LO interested in milk or do you have to encourage her to feed?

thanx, she isnt a hungry baby, she will happily go 6 hours between feeds but when shes hungry she lets me know! lol she goes all night now without a feed so has a bottle at 7, 12, 5 then 9ish! she weighed 8lb 7oz just over a week ago so is doing well! how much does your lo weigh now? lennon is cute too xxx

He weighed 8lb 11oz about a week ago.

Very jealous that Elesha doesn't feed at night!We're still up every 2 hours!!

oh bless, well take comfort in the fact my 8 yr old son has NEVER slept through the night!!! lol. at least lennon is gaining weight well and will eventually drop his night feeds and settle into his own routine xxxxx

Lana was 7lb4oz at birth and las week was 11lb4oz

she is on cow and gate and takes anything between 5&7oz at a time - she has 5/6 bottles in a 24 hour period, although the other day it was 8/9 bottles but she only took 5oz each time

my 8 week old is about 12lbs, born at 8lb 4, he used to take about 30ozs a day. He has had a bit of a cold, and his first jabs on Wednesday and since then is hardly interested in eating at all. It's a struggle to get even 20 ozs a day into him. I guess they will eat if they are hungry!

When Omar was 8 wks he used to take 4 oz every 4-5 hrs. He used to sleep through for 6-7 hrs without a feed in between. But he's a big baby, he was 13 lbs when he was 8 wks old at the 75th percentile for weight & height.

Maisie was 7lb 10.5oz when born she is now 10lb 6 oz and usually has between 5 - 7 oz (cow and gate).

Anna was 6 lbs 15 oz at birth

She is almost 8 weeks now and weighs 9 lbs 10oz.

She takes 6 bottles a day - 5 oz a bottle. She is now starting to drain at least 3 of her bottles a day so we are now going to make up 6oz bottles for her and see how it goes.

Rebecca was 8lb at birth and has always been a snacker. She will rarely have more than 3oz in one session (although that is slowly increasing). She feeds every couple of hours during the day though and is having about 23oz per day on average.

She's now 9lb 6oz but didn't put on weight for 2 weeks as she was in hospital (not feeding well due to bronchiolitis).

I don't think she's a particularly good feeder and it does worry me but I can't forcefeed her!!

We are on the opposite end of the scale i guess..Jake was 10lb 3oz at birth and is now 13lb 5oz and is on 7oz whenever the heck he feels like it lol..so far today from 8am he has had 37oz and will have another 7oz in a bit before bed so 43oz between 8am and 12am (he sleeps through 12am-8am).
I think we are having the 6 week growth spurt at the mo though as we are only just 7 weeks..so hopefully he will slow down lol.

Bryson was 6lbs 14oz at birth and at 8 weeks he weighed 11lbs 7oz and was taking in 3-4oz every 3 hours.

Noah was 6 weeks early weighing 6lb, hes now 10lb at 7 weeks old and he takes 6oz every 3-4 hours! He's on the 98th% though

Finley was 8lb 13 at birth hes now 8 weeks and weighs 13lb 14

He takes 6-7 oz every 2-3 hours in the day but will sleep a good 10 hour block at night

He was on the 91st percentile at birth and still on the same now

hi, our lo was a week early and weighed 5 pound 13, she was boob fed exclusivel for a couple of weeks and then i started to add a small bottle of aptimel, she is now on 5 oz and i dont boob feed her anymore, she is 10 weeks this week, no idea what she weighs but im guessing its around the nine and a half / ten pound, she has roughly one 5oz every 3 to 4 hrs, sleeps for a good six hrs at night and feeds like mad in the evening, i reckon she has roughly six bottle of four to five ounces a day. hope that helps!!

Lola was 5lb 12 born and is now 9 weeks old.

She takes about 4oz every 3-4 hours and is now about 9 and a half lb (not been weighed for 2 weeks but she was 8lb 14 last time!)

She's also in the 2nd centile. X

scarlett was 7lb 3oz and she only has about 3 oz but wants it every couple of hours. she still wakes up every 2-4 hours at night and will only take about 1.5 oz each time. Last night she ate and ate and ate probably about 7-8oz over three hours and slept 10pm to 3 am then woke up every hour after that for about half an oz. grrr. needless to say her weight gain isn't fabulous atm.

my LO should be having 5 oz every 2-3 hours so it ses but he rarely will eat it he will probs eat 2 every one hour very annoying but iv tried everything!! ulthough hes gaining weight so must be good he was 615 at birth and now hes 104 at 2 months x
