How many rounds of Clomid before BFP?

Girls, I was hoping for some advice/inspiration/success stories.

I have just completed my first cycle of Clomid and it workes - I ovulated. However, af's on her way so we didn't get pregnant

Im trying (stupidly!!) to find out why I honestly thought lack of ovulation due to PCOS is what's to blame for our lack of PCOS. But this cycle was my 3d ovulatory cycle since last October, we BD;ed at the right time, I held my legs up in the air - and still nothing

I had my tubes checked and we did a home SA test as hubby can't get one on the NHS yet.

So why, oh why wouldn't it just work?? What else could be wrong?

Or does the same logic apply as to "completely healthy" couples sometimes needing a year to conceive?

I was wondering if Clomid worked for you, did you conceive the first cycle on it or did you need a few cycles?

Id really appreciate some advice

I wasn't ovulating, took clomid for three rounds - ovulated on each round, didn't get pregnant. My PCOS was the only 'issue', so I was thinking the same ... if I'm ovulating now, why am I not pg?

Anyway, had a month of the meds (clomid, metformin, cylcogest) and got pg that month! (enough clomid in system to trigger o)

I think it can take a bit of time - and I was more relaxed that month, as I had written the cycle off as wasn't taking clomid!

Don't worry, it will happen.

To be fair, we have been very stressed around ovulation last cycle. We had a huge row the night before ovulation. Hubby was really upset. We did bd but it was really tense. So tbh Im not surprised it didn't happen.

I will certainly be a lot more relaxed next time round!

I don't ovulate on my own at all (no PCOS, just anovulatory). I took clomid 50 mg and it failed to make me ovulate, so the next go round I took clomid 100 mg and had a scan on day 14 and had 3 mature follicles. We BD'd every day the week of ovulation, and I got my BFP 13 DPO at home on a clearblue digi, and then confirmed on 17 DPO at my RE's office with HCG of 458.
