My daughter just turned 8 months, lately she's been almost annoyed nursing. Kicking, slapping me - but hangs on until she clamps and pulls off. It's like she can't sit still during our sessions!

She hasn't cut her first tooth and I know her gums have been bothering her.

She is eating solids like a champ 2-3x a day.

She nurses twice at night and about 4-5 x in the day for a total of 6-7x.

Did your babe get annoyed and restless at this time? Is she starting to wean herself?

Thoughts?

How is your supply? The clamping and pulling is often a sign that little one is trying to bring in more milk.

:confused:This sounds like my dd2! My pediatrician says it has to do with teething. When she starts I take her off and give her a teether and that seems to do the trick.

My son us almost 8..got two teeth this mth...he was waking up every hr wanting to suck..I think it soothes him...I stopped night feedings and give him bottles at night and if he is disturbed, I add tylenol to formula and that helps...sometimes when he is restless, I give gripe water followed by paci and that helps too...
My son was pulling etc too and eventually it hurts when they have a tooth...make sure to talk to him and tell him it's ouchy..I would unlatch and say this is ouchy and relatch...
