Hello, I'm considering bidding on a dress on ebay (check my previous thread) and it's likely it'd need adjusting. It has beads https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150406145458&fromMakeTrack=true&ssPageName=VIP:watchlink:top:en so is it possible to adjust, how much does it cost roughly?

Thank You :winkwink:

it cost a fortune to get mine done because of the beading on the bodice - £120! It's coz they had to undo it, adjust the boning so it wasn't under my armpits ;) then re-do it. For me it was worth it though coz the dress was a bargain.
Also -I'm pretty sure there are cheaper places but i'd had this one recommended to me, ring a few dressmakers to see if they'll give you a quote.

That's not too bad, I wouldn't mind paying that (nearer the time) providing it's not much more than what I paid for the dress. I *might* get a bargain anyway, so will still end up much cheaper than a new dress :)

Thanks!

Adjustments can be upto £600 depending on how much! But I'd say if it's just taking in - about £150.

that's fine :) It would be just taking it in, cause she's the same height as me!

crikey, what would cost £600?

my dress needs taking in (boned corset) and taking up, I am afraid it's going to be complicated and a lot of work as there is a lace overlay with a scalloped edge that will need to be unpicked and reattached.

eeeek. still, it was only £200 down from £500, which was down from the original £975, so I guess I have £300ish... eeeeeeeeek.
