Hi ladies!! I'm new to all this as my son Joe is only 8 days old today! Joe seems to never be full sometimes and I'm demand feeding at the moment.

Just wondered how much in fl oz your little ones were taking at a week old? Both at individual feeds and total throughout the day.

Thanks :hugs:

Hiya chica.
Congrats on your little man!
So,its obviously been a while since I've had a newborn around :) but I seem to recall that for the first few weeks she was taking 4oz around every 4 hours.
xxxx

Hai!
in the first week my son was taking 2oz evry 2 hrs, by now hes taking 4oz evry 3-4hrs! hope this helps xx

I don't personally think you should leave a newborn 4 hours between feeds. I think most want to feed about 1-2 ozs every 1.5 to 2 hours.

Mines only 9 days old and she's drinking between 60-90ml every 4 hours xxx

6 x 3oz = 18oz a day, can't remember how long for now but think she went up to 4oz not long after.
She was breastfed for her first 3 days and it would take ages to get the 3oz down her!
Mine would wake up for a feed practically on the 4 hour dot.

Max is 8 days now and never seems to be hungry. He's doing about 3 oz every 2 hours and that doesn't seem to satisfy him. In fact he can clear a 3oz feed and still fuss for more. The midwife's visiting tomorrow though so we're going to speak to her as he does seem to be eating a lot and seems to be constantly wanting more.

Hollie seems to be getting more hungry now, so im going to try the cow and gate hungrier babies one bottle to see if that makes a difference, would that be ok for 10 day old? xxx

Seren was taking about 2-3oz every 3hrs. I wouldn't let her go more than 3/4hrs without a feed at the time x

Thanks girls!! Saw the midwife today and Joe is putting on a good amount of weight so they're happy with how much he's taking.
Some days he takes 1-2 oz's every hour or so and then can go for 3-4 hours and we have to wake him! Seems to even out though over the day and we never let him go for more than 3.5/4 hours without waking him. Hopefully he'll settle into a routine soon on how he feeds.
