How much formula for 3 week old.

I feel like my baby isn't eating enough.

He is currently eating about 2 oz (maybe slightly less) every three hours. Sometimes he wants to eat after two but that is rare.

Everything I have read says he should eat between 3-4 oz every 3 hours. But there is not way he could eat that much.

He doesn't seem to be losing weight or anything and he gets pretty vocal when he is hungry so I don't think he is starving.

My little one was taking around 2-3oz till about 4 weeks then she would take 4oz every now and then. I've been told as long as they are having 6-8 dirty diapers a day and gaining weight they are eating enough. You'll know when he is ready to take more cause he will let you know. Loudly

My Lo was taking 3-4 oz at 3 weeks, he is taking just over 4 oz now, some feeds especially at night he takes 5 oz.

It varys with every baby, plus their birth weight determines it slightly. I had an 8lber so at 1 week old she has anywhere between 2 & 4 oz, but averages 3. If he's full and content then don't worry

I'd say that sounds perfectly right then. The right amount is really whatever he wants fed on demand, as long as he's not losing weight. Some babies eat huge amounts early on (and frankly, some parents try to force them to eat huge amounts so they don't have to feed them as often) and some babies eat more petite amounts. My daughter was still BF at that age, so I have no idea what she was taking, but when we switched to FF at around 8-10 weeks, she was only just barely taking 3 oz about every 4 hours.
