I saw in the birth to 5 book that you shouldnt give your baby too many wholegrains. It doesnt say how much to give. I like wholemeal bread so I give my son it alot and I also try to have wholemeal pasta/rice half of the time so I give that to him too. He has half a jar once a day (rest of food is finger food) and some brands like Organix seem to use wholegrains. Should I cut back on them?

I was wondering this too. I give Ruby wholemeal bread once a day and she eats the whole slice usually. I only give her white pasta though. I guess as long as they're eating a variety of other foods, then it's ok for them to have wholegrain regularly. I think the potential issue is that the wholegrain foods are very filling and may spoil their appetite for other foods.

Babies shouldn't have wholegrain but toddlers can have it if they can handle it (ie, swallow the grains etc without gagging.) I've never heard of not giving too much wholemeal..
