My son is 5 weeks old now and I just wondered how long it took your LO to go through the night longer? My son only goes about 2-3 hours at night sometimes less if he hasnt took a big enough feed! Hes been struggling with reflux (we think) and has just started infant gaviscon, hopefully this makes a difference! Xx

My girl was 6-8 weeks and she started going 4/5 hrs. It was a very gradual process. She still occasionally regresses back but now I'm only feeding twice a night x

I feed at 23.30-00.30 (it depends when he wakes - I'm feeding on demand). He usually wakes at 02.00-03.00 and then again about 05.30-06.30am.

It's fairly regular (... touch wood!). My boy is now 6weeks 1 day. He's also been diagnosed with reflux. We tried Infant Gaviscon, but even though it got rid of the reflux it gave him horrible constipation with paste like green poo! (even at 1/4 dose). We're now just about to try ranitidine (fx!).

Not all babies will get constipated with Gaviscon though - so good luck! Reflux is horrible to deal with. I burp before, every 2oz (guessing as we're EBF) and after, but I never jig him or pat him - I just hold him upright and walk around the house for 30min to 1hr. Seems to work, but takes forever!

At 5 weeks old my LO was feeding around every 2-3 hours at night too.

I hope the Gaviscon helps your LO :)

My baby boy is 5 weeks and I would say he feeds every 2 to 3 hours too. But that's the case throughout the entire day,not just the night. I would say it's pretty regular though we feed him between 10.30 and 11.30pm and he wakes typically between 2.30 and 3.30 each night then waking again at around 5 or 6am!
I also would love to know when he will go longer between feeds aswell, even if it was just every 4 hours! Hope the gaviscon works for you,I know someone who used it and it worked wonders for them.
X

Thanks for the replies ladies! I wonder do EBF babies ever sleep through as it digests quicker? I dont mind waking at night if he an go straight down but because of the reflux I have to keep him upright so it takes loads longer! Fatandlumpy - thats what im really worried about, im trying to really only give it if im hes really bad! I gave it him yesterday and it stopped the screaming fits but he still threw up tonnes :( im cutting out dairy products atm to see if its lactose intolerance!
Xx
