how often were your babies being fed at 4 weeks?

olivia is just over 4 weeks old and is still being fed roughly every 2 hours and she has between 3 and 4 oz(she also breast feeds 3 times a day). the hv said to up her feeds to 5oz so she doesnt need feeding as often but its not very often she finishes the whole 4oz so i know she wouldnt be able to take 5oz. im happy to keep feeding on demand but it just makes going out anywhere a bit of a nightmare. i was just wondering how often your babies are or were being fed at 4 weeks and can i expect her to start going longer between feeds anytime soon?

It really does all depend on the baby but 5 ozs would have been a lot for my little man at that age. He has only just gone up to 6 ozs at 3.5 months. I seemed to be feeding him constantly at that age - all the feeds just merged into one! I found by about 8 weeks it settled down and I started being able to feed him every 3 hours and he dropped one of his night feeds (the 2am one). Now at 15 weeks he is sleeping through from 11-8am and has 4 feeds during the day and a dream feed at 11pm, which works out roughly as a feed every 3-4 hours. I would take what the HV says with a pinch of salt, babies that young need to be fed little and often and she will gradually be able to go longer between feeds in the next few weeks.

Summer is nearly 4 weeks and she feeds roughly every 4 or 5 hours, sometimes 6 if she's had a long sleep. But she's done this since day 1, I suppose every baby is different A friend's baby is 3 weeks and she still feeds every hour! xx

Daisy is 4 weeks on Monday and she's taking 4-7oz every 4-5 hours, it's a nightmare trying to guess how much she'll want Usually she takes 7oz at 11pm and 8am, 4oz in the night, and 5ish during the day!

Alessa is 5 weeks old (6 on Monday) and has anywhere between 1 and 4 ounces every 2-4 hours lol. Sometimes every hour...

When she is feeling 100% she will take 4 oz a feed and eat every 3 hours, but when she gets gassy she will only have between 1 and 2.5 oz and eat anywhere from every hour to every 3 hours.

I used to worry so much she wasnt eating enough, but she is still gaining weight and still has wet diapers sooo...Im trying to stop worrying as much!

They really are the boss at this age!

At 4 weeks my baby girl was taking in 3oz every 4hours
