Just sneaking over from baby club to ask...

How old are kids when they actually sleep and can pull up their own blankets when they are cold or pull off blankets when they are too hot at night?

Both of mine slept with duvets from being about 9-12 months. I know at that point i'd have to go in if they got cold and pulled it back over them.

I don't know if it's just because she doesn't move much but i've noticed that my little girl always has her duvet over her if i go in during the night or first thing in the morning. She's been like that since she was about 20-24 months.
My eldest has been kicking his off when he gets too hot since he was about 2years.

We co-sleep. Omar has a blanket since he was 9 months, he kicks it off when he feels hot & he pulls it back when he feels cold or he moves close to me/ DH to share our duvets. Some nights he wakes up a night & asks us to cover him. I think he was 20 months when he started to pull it back when he's cold, but he used to kick it away since he was a baby.

Paige sleeps with a blanket for about 15 minutes, she is a constant wriggler and always ends up on top of hers. She definitely wouldnt know how to pull it up if she got cold, shes still too young for that I think... Even if she did, she would end up on top soon after!

I think my little one was two before she would actually do it herself. Not that she wasn't capable just easier to get mum out of her nice warm bed and do it :haha:

I used to go in and check that they had them over them from around 12 months old.

I still have to go in and fix them for Aisling half the time! She's obviously well able to do that kind of thing so it's usually in the early hours of the morning when she's not exactly on the ball and I think it's just easier for her to call me!

My 7 year old will still call us in to fix her duvet. My almost nine year fixes it on his own. My 19 month old kicks her blankets off and does not fix them

Lucy usually sleeps ontop of hers and I fix it once when I go to bed. She doesn't usually wake up through being too hot or too cold.

xx

Emma is still a wriggler and covers would be off her within 10 minutes, so she still sleeps with a sleeping bag at the moment. I think when the summer comes I am going to ditch the bags and get her used to a blanket.
