In the title really just wondered how soon after some got pregnant after and if they had any probs with scar or not?
Did your docs advise not to get pregnant, I understand its best to wait at least a year to heal properly, we have decided to go for #3 next year but i was curious just incase i get a little impatient :flower:

I was not given any guidance about how long to wait before trying again after my first c section. As it happened I fell pregnant with ds2 when ds1 was 9 months old. My consultant said that if it had been less than 18 months between births they wiuld have considered that an additional risk factor. I didn't have any problems with my scar buy have been told that if I were to have a third child I'd have to have another c section due to how the scar has healed.

I got pregnant 10 months after cs. So far it hasn't been an issue, and hopefully it won't be.

My MIL had a C-Section September 5th 2003 and another September 14th 2004.

There were no problems with her scar and she wasn't told to wait or anything.

Three months after got go ahead from my ob, but he wasn't thrilled. Babies were 12 months apart, and all was great surgery-wise. Hth

i was told it takes 2 months for ur internal and external scar to heal after two months it aint gong to get any better the only thing is ur tummy muscles take awhile to get back to normal i got pregnant after five months nd the only problem was my bump popped out quite early nd because i had no muscles to keep it in and up right it hurt my back a little more but im 3 months afer my 2 c section nd i have more muscle control than after last one think i was stiched up better this time cause last one was an emegency under general but so much better this time :)

I got pregnant 4 months after my c section. My OB wasn't happy that I didn't wait a year but we want our babies as close together as we could get them. Next c-section is booked for August 28th because this baby is transverse. WE will be trying for 1 more as soon as possible.

I got pregnant 14 months after, unfortunately we miscarried but were pregnant again 2 months after that so 16 months in total.

13 months after DD, no one has said anything to me about the timing. But I do remember them, saying when I had the section to wait at least a year.

My doc said 3-4 months after is fine, we waited a year and got preg first month - no problems with the scar so far!

I waited 3 years, but only because I had lots of trouble getting pregnant after my first C-Section.

However doctors recommend you wait 18-23 months. I know that seems like a long time but that's really a safety guideline.

Of course we all know that many women get pregnant sooner. Fortunately most of them do fine, so if you get pregnant sooner, don't panic. With close monitoring and limited activity and exercise chances are you'll do fine, but I will stress that it's to your benefit to wait as long as you can before getting pregnant again.

Hope that helps.

I found out I was pregnant again about 3 months after my section

I was advised 18-24 months to allow your body to fully recover (after any type of delivery). My son died shortly after birth and at 6 months my consultant gave me the go ahead to try again. Got pregnant that month. As this lo arrived early, we had just under 13 months between deliveries. This delivery I had an induced vbac after developing pre e at 37 weeks and needed a forceps delivery.

I conceived 16 months after my CS. My Doctor advised me to wait 12 months.

Doc said we were good to try again straight afterwards. I conceived in June, baby was born four months earlier in Feb.

To have the best chance of a VBAC, I was advised 18 months before TTC. I just fell pregnant with LO #2 almost 3 years after having DD1.

I was told to wait at least 18 months but no more than 5 years. So basically we decided to STTC when DS is 2, which will be tomorrow ;)

My OB said that if we were planning another section, there was no timeframe to waite medically but maybe for sanity hahaha he said some people like to wait until the first baby is sleeping through the night? hahaha he said if I wanted to try and VBAC then we should wait a minimum of 1 yr - 18 months.

We recommend 2 years between deliveries if planning a VBAC
