How to behave during the 2WW?

Hi everyone, I'm new

I'm in my 2WW, and I've basically cut out caffeine and alcohol just in case. What do people typically do? I'm asking because I'm taking an overnight plane trip on Friday (flying coach), and the thought of doing this without an Ambien or at least a couple of drinks is making me pretty sad.

It's my first month trying, and I don't think I'm pregnant (just got off BC 2 months ago, and I O'd on day 21, and been spotting ever since--now I'm 5DPO, will be 7DPO when we fly, unless AF shows up). But still!! Don't want to harm a potential little one...I've also heard that you don't share blood with the baby for the first five weeks. Can't really find any solid research on this... so was wondering what everyone thinks/does in this situation.

Thanks!!

It's gonna be up to each individual to decide what's best for them--that said, I've also heard that in the first few weeks there is no blood-sharing, and in that vein I have had sips of alcohol during my tww in the past. I don't stop drinking coffee, though, as I won't stop drinking it during confirmed pregnancy, either.

There's a lot of info out there--you just have to do your research and find what will work best for your lifestyle and comfort level. Good luck!!

I agree with Cheeses, it's a personal choice. If you want solid information though, I'd stay away from the internet. See if you can chat with your doctor about it. They would be your best source of information on this topic.

Thanks for the replies! Yeah, the consensus on the internet seems to be 'drink til it's pink.' I'm kind of on the fence here. I don't want to stop my life for who knows how long. But I also want healthy, super-smart babies....

You're probably fine, so long as you don't binge drink. A glass of wine with dinner probably won't do your baby harm in the first 2 weeks. But ultimately it's personal choice.

My own choice is to abstain from drinking entirely, and I'm kind of happy to have an excuse not to get drunk. That may change if I don't get pregnant quickly.
