Does anyone have any tips of what can help over come being run down?

I have a 16 day old son and 20 month old daughter. My baby doesn't sleep at night at all very colicky and is breastfed so no one can really
Help. My 20 month old has started waking in the night because of teething.

I am exhausted and feint incredit run down. Sore throat, Cold etc etc

Someone has suggested drinking tonic from the pharmacy does anyone else have any other suggestions?

I'm going to start expressing a bottle before bed to see if I can get atleast a few hours sleep and see if he will settle for my partner but we will see (he only ever settles for me)

I'm going through the same thing. My 5 week old has been waking 8-12 times per night, and my DS1 is 26 months old and is cutting 3/4 of his 2 year molars and not napping from the pain.

It is exhausting. Honestly I'm just trying my best to eat as healthy as possible, do quiet activities like reading books with DS when I can so at least we aren't running around like crazy all day, and having coffee in the early mornings as needed (but limiting to under 300 mg / day since I'm breastfeeding and don't want it to impact baby's sleep)

Sorry you are going through this it is hard. Just keep catching whatever sleep you can. Eat well, drink plenty.

Coffee abd sweets help me :)

Hey I'd consider boosting iron levels of you are breast feeding it's coming from your blood so building up on extra blood stores could boost you, you never know it could've been you had low levels and were a little anaemic anyway. A natural fruity iron product is a really powerful energy booster. I use hubner vital f, for what you are describing you may like to have a look at the reviews on it.

That sounds really hard.
Although you are breastfeeding, can your partner help by doing the diaper change, burp, and putting him back in his bassinet (or whatever you use) after? I always found those way more exhausting than nursing, since you can do that lying down. In the early days I would also nurse lying down on the couch in the evenings (while awake and making sure baby is safe of course!) because I'd be so tired. Maybe you could do that while your partner chases after your toddler? And definitely eat lots of protein and snack regularly throughout the day. You can do this!
