I was gonna post this in pets but theres never anybody in there to reply so thought general was next best place.

My miserable old neighbour just shouted at me in the street cos apparently my cats are pooping in her garden, there are about 10 cats in the street but its just mine.
And we moved here 1st august but its just started 3 days ago:wacko:

Anyways I am going to have to resort to getting a litter tray which I hate, but is there anything I can buy for her garden to stop them going?
Has anyone been successfull at stopping the problem?

you have a cat ? and no litter tray.. i would kill you if you were my neighbour! ;p lmao... not saying it is your cat in her garden but without a litter tray your cat will be going in ova peoples gardens aswell as yours, it will just go where it pleases, i'm not a at expert mind, just my exp from my 3 cats x

and personally i don't think anything works with cats, they generally ignore most things designed to scare them off etc, and they don't like certain smells but thats difficult to manage outside :) saying all this tho, even with a litter tray, the other cats in the street will continue to poop in her garden so i think u will get the blame anyways :/ x

They just go anywhere, i don't think you can stop them.

V xx

yup they do go anywhere. i used to have cats too! they'll even go on your bed if you forgot to put them out that night because you were so tired....!

i have heard cats are 'scared' of mirrors though, because they think it's another cat. our old house used to have them all along the back of the bedding.
they don't like citrus either, like those little jif lemons.

urmm i think that's about it!

I've heard that too about them not liking certain smells, apparently they don't like Pepper neither x I don't necessarily think it's your cat though if it only started a few days ago x Fairydreams :flower:

You can buy cat scarer things, not sure if they work. You can also buy cat fencing to go on top of your usual fencing to keep cats either in or out.

You need a litter tray. One per cat and an extra one. I am a cat owner and would be furious if someone else's cat started toileting in my garden. Our cat is an indoor cat, so we have litter trays and she cannot poo in anyone's garden. I don't like having a litter tray, but it is part of the responsibility of owning a cat. If you hate having a litter tray, imagine how much your non cat owning neighbour must hate having cat mess in their garden? It's not really miserable of them at all.

I've got four dogs and I can't imagine the uproar if I just let them out to mess in people's gardens! It's not like cat poo is less offensive than dog's poo, but for some reason everyone's meant to accept that cats poo everywhere.

OMG I would be soo soo mad! I think you really need a litter tray hun only thing I know that 100% stops cats poo'ing in my garden is the fact I have dogs lol

We have this problem too but the other way round, the neighbours cats poop in our garden and I have to clean it up so Evie doesn't get near it! I'd be grateful if you could let me know if you find something that works :flower:

you can get some really good gels from homebase - but an oldskool trick is to get OH to pee round parameter of the garden - puts them right off!!

I got litter trays and they are using it so I hope that means they wont be going elsewhere.
She is miserable to start with, not just cos of the cats:haha:,I too would be annoyed about the cat poo.She tells the neighbours kids to be quiet when they play outside,in the middle of the day,not late or anything:wacko:.Its a nice street and every other neighbour says hello etc and are friendly but she wouldnt have spoken at all if it wasnt about the cats.

For some reason I thought they buried their poo and nobody really knew it was there.
