I know there is no validity to the heart rate and gender myth, but I didnt realize it matched up so well to everyone in my real life and everyone in my Mommy group. It overwhelmingly plays true to all of them.

I have a DS and I cannot for the life of me remember what his heart rate's were throughout, but I remember it never getting into 160's although it stayed closer to 140s.

This baby has been high - 170's @ 8 weeks and 160's at 12 weeks. Next ultrasound/appt at 16 weeks but I wont know until 20 weeks. So naturally it's stuck in my head that its a girl. Doctor says not to pay it any attention and I still have a 50/50 shot either way.

Going a little crazy!

Did this myth hold any truth for anyone here? Was it the opposite? I'd love to hear!

My boys were between 140-160. My girl was the only one who went up to 170. My Midwife guessed we would have a girl based on that, and she was right! No idea how accurate it is, but it's fun to play with the idea. 😊

It was right for me too! Also the myth that a boy heart rate sounds like a train and a girl sounds like a horse (think that's the right way round), was right too

It's pretty accurate if it's a resting heart rate. Obviously if you take a reading when baby is wriggling around the heart rate will be raised. Boys/males have a lower resting heart rate once they are here too x

I've never heard this train/horse explanation. I'll have to look more into it!
