Is there any reason to delay trying hungry baby milk??

Emma is now on 7oz bottles and she will drink these and sometimes 2hrs later she can be hungry again - where as other times, like today, she can go 4 1/2 hrs...although thats usually only when we're out and she's in the car or being pushed about cos it seems to send her into a proper deep sleep! But normally it's like the milk isn't satisfying her - especially at night, we can give her a 7oz bottle and she'll drink that and then take some from another bottle before she'll stop, and even then it's hard to get her to sleep - she seems to be awfully windy and I'm wondering whether it's because she's taking in so much liquid. So I'm considering trying hungrier baby milk (Aptimal) - it says from birth on it and my OH's mum keeps saying I should try this, so I was just wondering is there any reason not to try it???????

My m/v and health visditor told me not to get it as it causes constipation.

i have just started giving my LO hungry baby milk before bed as she is starting to be weaned and i have found it to be a god send even thought she was sleeping throught the night she started stirring the last couple of weeks

i have also found she doesn't suffer with constipation but she is having more dirty nappies

We have just gone onto hungry baby milk as he will not take more than 4oz at a time but was starving every 1.5/2hrs so HV sugested that we give it a go so he is more settled and having better nap and sleep time.It is working really well and he is much happier for it!!. We are using Aptamil and has not caused any constipation!x

yeah I feed Ruby half hungry and half normal (Cow and gate) and she's never been constipated. I want to delay weaning til 6 months so if she starts being unsatisified with this, I'll just change to all hungry baby and no 'normal'...

My HV said I shouldn't do it... after telling her that we moved Lottie onto Cow and Gate Hungry Baby, as she'll get constipated... and made me feel like a really bad Mum! However Lottie is happier on the milk, stays fuller for longer and has not yet been constipated... in fact she has more regular bowel movements!

I can't see why you shouldn't try it if you think it will help. Monitor your LO and see if she struggles with her bowel movements. If she struggles, then you may want to move back to stage 1. hope it works for ya! xx
