Hungry and squirty

So, I've been constantly hungry lately! Also, I used to have to hold a cloth to one boob while Violet nursed on the other. Then I just had to apply pressure. Well, simply applying pressure no longer works! The boob not being nursed on leaks again even while pressure is applied! Why is that? I thought that was supposed to go away and stay away until next baby. Also, what's with me being so hungry lately?

You are hungry because you are breastfeeding. Breastfeeding requires your body to work extra hard because you are producing milk. I read that breastfeeding actually burns an extra 500 calories a day, which is why they say that it helps woman lose the baby weight. As far as leaking, its just something that happens. You can get some disposable nursing pads and put them in your bra as you nurse to help the leaking.

i get the megaleak too. right thru my cloth boobpads, they do nothing. im too cheap to try disposables tho i imagine they would work better . i just keep,extra shirts in the diaper bag

Dragonfly, that's all well and good, but I haven't been hungry like this for quite some time. Why now? Is there a growth spurt around this time? As for leaking, I know it happens and I know how to deal with it. But generally the leaking gets better with time. I haven't heard about it going and coming back.

twobecome3, but you have a 4 month old, not an 8 month old! I don't leak nearly as bad as I used to, but while pressure was enough to take care of it for a while, I'm back to using a cloth to avoid wet sheets on the bed when I nurse!

mebbe its the heat. r u somewhere thats in a hotwave right now? its been over 30 degrees here all week. ive been hungrier and leakier than usual. i do her feeds in our bedroom and the ac is in the living room full on but its still hot in the b/room
