I a bit stuck with what to do with zacoiyas feeding he sleeps 9 hours at night without a feed but during day hes taking 6oz every hour and a half!!!!

Even then hes still constantly chewing on his hands and sucking on anything he possibly can  not sure weather to try HB milk or change brand hes always been so good an aptamil - never colic-y or winding - no constapation or belly aches so im worried about changing but not sure if what hes currently on is enough?

what about uping his feed to 7oz. sophia sucks on her hands and bibs etc all the time but shes not hungry she just likes doing it. so he mite be doing it for the same reason

im not sure. nicole was nearly on the same at ur lo's age and we put her on HBF. it didnt make much of a difference, she was still taking 50-60oz in 24 hrs plus 2 nite feeds. we have her on solids since 4mths as per hv instructions and tbh shes still taking alot of formula aswell as 3 meals. shes now gone back to waking at bang on 4am for the last 3 nites for 5oz. yesterday with her 3 meals she took approx 48oz.

maybe ask ur hv or gp. sorry im no help :flower:

olly does the same thing, they not hungry just sucking, he just likes to do it, also I think he has started teething on and off so the sucking helps. No need to change milk, but if you are worried I would ask the HV.
xx

My cousin had this problem with her LO, she was using Aptamil feeding loads every hour, instead of starting on hungry baby she tried changing brands and swapped to Cow and Gate, feeds went back to normal so she stuck with cow and gate  x

This is what we are going to try. :)

Oh lo is the same as yours wriggly. He sleeps well at night (not 9 hours though) about 6 hours without any. Then during the day he wants milk around every 2 hours, sometimes less. He is now on aptamil and we have just bought cow and gate to see if it makes a difference. We tried hungry baby milk but it made no difference what so ever.

Aint it weird that changing brands from aptamil to cow and gate can make a difference when they are made by the same people and there is only a slight ingredient difference.

Good luck with what ever you decide :flower:

Ive had this problem with my little boy harry he was having at least 6 7oz bottles through out the day . I went to the hv and she told me to avoid hbm & another told me to put him on solids so he was having still 6 7oz bottles & 3 meals as the food did not help him cut down the milk . I placed him on the hbm & he now drinks less & seems alot happier he has been on this for 2 month now. aptamil has always been good ive found as harry has never suffered colic. hope this helps.

thanks girlies - i dont think upping to 7oz as we tried this and he threw loads back up but could give it another try and it was about 2 weeks ago we tried.

thanks i wont take the suckling as hes hungry then just something they do haha

i think il speak to HV and see what she says before i change or do anything as i worried it will just upset him

He could be due a growth spurt? Babes drink tonnes more at around 3 months to give them a good boost a grow a little more :flower: xx
