hay all,

my little one is now 3 weeks old. i am giving her Cow and Gate at the moment but am finding that she is not satisfied after a feed. When she wakes for a feed at 3/4am she wont go back off and i'm shattered.

Can anyone resommend a formula that might fill her up a bit more? Satisfy her?

x x

Is she taking the whole bottle?
If so, maybe try upping it by an ounce x

If not, are you sure it's hunger and not wind/colic? My LO used to be very unsettled between 11pm - 2am at that age.

Try giving her more oz to see if that helps.

Your LO shares the same name as me :D

try giving water in between feeds if shes not satisfied, she might just be thirsty and not hungry especially in this weather

You feeding on demand hun? ive found the more i get in in the day the less he wants at night, he has been sleeping through 12 hours for weeks now although I know some babie just seem to go through a lot easier than others, if its only just stqarted happening it could also just be a growth spurt, good luck xxx

My hv says to not take any notice of the amount of feeds or ounces on the tin - just feed on demand... well my lo demands a lot, 5oz at a time just now, but the h/v also said she is due a growth spurt so this could be what your lo is doing.

I asked about the hungry baby food and was told no, it just causes constipation - just feed when baby demands it, if she doesnt want it she'll refuse or sick it up.

I swapped onto the hungrier baby milk when Oscar was taking 13 oz's of milk at every feed  that was when he was about 6 weeks old, I was getting a bit pissed off to be honest as the HV kept telling me not to change :saywhat: well I stuck with her advice and he poo's lovely so he must have been ready then xx

Your in the exact same boat as me.

I upped Roman's feed from 3oz to 4oz and he takes the whole lot. After the 2nd feed through the night he just wont settle and i thought it was because he wanted more but its due to wind and he just cant drop off to sleep.

I was always told to up an ounce as soon as they drain a bottle? although i have the greediest baby in the world so maybe not the best to give out advice  xx

Is it only the night feed when your lo won't settle and is draining the bottle? Introducing hungry baby milk so early is risky as they will almost certainly get constipated. Your lo is only 3 weeks old though so don't expect too much hun. It may just be a little phase or something you are doing to disturb the baby's sleep too much. For example do you change your baby's nappy at every feed, even in the night? It can just be the little things that distrupt them in the night and they start to forge that it is night time. #I have bottle fed 3 of my babies and have had 2 on hungry milk under 10 weeks and they both had really bad constipation for about 6 weeks so with my 3rd I waited until 12 weeks and he was loads better.
